By the great mercy of God we are given an opportunity to feed our hearts on the living Word of God. God is light, and there is no darkness in Him! The light of God’s Word enlightens us and makes us wise.

Today we will continue talking about what we do with our talents. Let’s turn to Jesus’ parable about talents. It talks about the master and his three servants who received talents and assignments from their master.

The master called his servants.

«For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling to a far country, who called his own servants…» (Mathew, 25:14).

God has a specific calling for every one of us. But He only calls those people who acknowledge His lordship.

«For the kingdom of heaven is like a man travelling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his good to them»(Mathew, 25:14).

I want you to notice that the Lord called His servants. What people have received their calling? Servants. What does it mean to be a servant? A servant is one who belongs to his master. In old times a servant totally identified himself with his master; sometimes he even had his master’s surname.

A very important meaning is found in this idea. If we say that we belong to the Lord, then we will be able to hear His calling. But if we still belong to ourselves, then we are not His servants. You must become the servant of God and not of a man. When we prayed the prayer of salvation, we announced that Jesus has become our Lord and Master. We said, «I receive Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of my life». What does that mean? It means that Jesus has become my Supervisor. It means that now I belong to Him and that I have lost the right to control you own life and have passed this right to Jesus; so I proclaim Him to be the Lord. Now it is not me who rules my life; it is Him. Jesus does not call someone else’s servants; He only calls His own. He only calls those who belong to Him. He calls those who fully identify themselves with Him and realizes that they no longer belong to themselves, but only to the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you desire to find out what your calling is and to start walking in it, then, first of all, be obedient to God on a daily basis; secondly, let Jesus to become the Lord in all the areas of your life.

It is our honour and privilege to have Jesus Christ as our Lord, since He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. The lordship of Jesus does not humiliate and limit a person; quite the opposite is true, – it exalts and adorns human life.

«Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, whose heart is set on pilgrimage» (Psalm 84:5).

May God bless you today in a special way!

Till tomorrow!

Pastor Rufus Ajiboye
If you desire to find out what your calling is and to start walking in it, then, first of all, be obedient to God on a daily basis; secondly, let Jesus to become the Lord in all the areas of your life.

It is our honour and privilege to have Jesus Christ as our Lord, since He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
