The measure of our understanding about importance of the lordship of Jesus Christ will determine the level of victory in our lives. No victory is possible without the lordship of Jesus Christ. The victory is where Jesus is. Only the person that allows Jesus Christ to be his or her Lord can truly walk in His victory.\r\n\r\nToday I would like to give you several illustrations of how, based on the understanding of the lordship of Jesus Christ, we gain protection from all the purposes of the devil. Let\u2019s look into the Bible.\r\n<h6>\u00abThen he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the LORD said to Satan, \u201eThe LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?\u201d Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, \u201eTake away the filthy garments from him.\u201d And to him He said, \u201eSee, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.\u201d And I said, \u201eLet them put a clean turban on his head.\u201d So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the LORD stood by. Then the Angel of the LORD admonished Joshua, saying, \u201eThus says the LORD of hosts: \u2018If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here\u00bb(Zechariah, 3:1-7).<\/h6>\r\nThis story tells us about the time of the ministry of Zechariah, who served to the remnant of Jews that had returned to Jerusalem from the Babylonian captivity. At the time the existence of Israel as a nation was in a very miserable state, and Satan was doing everything he wanted. He created a tremendous resistance to the nation of Israel and tried to destroy it. God gave a vision to the prophet Zechariah. In this vision Zechariah saw sinfulness of God\u2019s people. He saw that the high priest was dressed in \u201c<strong><em>filthy garments<\/em><\/strong>\u201d.\r\n\r\nThe filthy garments of the high priest were a symbol of the sinfulness of God\u2019s people. Joshua, the high priest of Israel, stood before the LORD and was dressed in dirty clothes because of the disobedience of the nation of God, which he represented.\r\n\r\nSatan also was present at this meeting. And, as we can see from the passage of Scripture, Satan stood at the right hand in order to oppose Joshua, the high priest of Israel. Satan came to that place to show the guilt of the children of the covenant. That is why he is called \u2018the accuser of our brethren\u2019. Every time we sin and lose our right standing with God we give Satan an opportunity to come and to accuse us; our wrongdoings give him the licence. Satan came to the LORD and demanded that the LORD condemn His nation for their sins.\r\n\r\nThe devil still does that today. Let\u2019s not give him reasons to accuse us of our disobedience to God and hidden sins. Through the blood of Jesus Christ and by walking in the light we can be cleansed from all unrighteousness.\r\n<h6>\u00abBut if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin\u00bb\u00a0(1 John, 1: 7).<\/h6>\r\nGod\u2019s word for you today is: walk in the light and do not give place to the devil!\r\n\r\nTill tomorrow!\r\n\r\nPastor Rufus Ajiboye","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The measure of our understanding about importance of the lordship of Jesus Christ will determine the level of victory in our lives.
