II

Greetings to you, dear friends! I am grateful to God for every one of you who visits our homepage in order to feed on the Word. The Word of God is the bread of life; it points the way; it helps and inspires and helps our faith to grow. God’s Word helps the responsible people, the ones that are doers of the Word.

Yesterday we started to look at the portrait of a responsible person. We saw that a responsible person does not forget what he has been assigned to do; he records and accomplishes it. Besides, a responsible person keeps his word and promises; also a responsible person does not blame others for his problems, but looks for the reasons in his own life and eliminates them.

Let’s continue to discuss this portrait.

A responsible person is organized, disciplined and diligent even when nobody watches him or her. Such a person determines what he needs to do, when he needs to do it and makes the necessary effort to accomplish it. A responsible person submits to what he needs to do. Since he understands the importance of being responsible, he cannot be idle or inert. A responsible person effectively uses his time, his energy and his resources.

A responsible person is trustworthy and reliable.

If you entrust something to a responsible person, you have peace about it, because it will be done. A responsible person will not fail you even if he is not able to do something; – he will find someone to substitute him or her and will make sure that the assignment is completed.

A responsible person is faithful, loyal and honest

What do you do when nobody looks and watches you?

I remember myself being a teenager; my father told me to sow corn. He showed me how to do it. I had to plant 2-3 corn seeds in a particular distance from one another. While my father was watching me, I did a good job; when he realized that I have grasped the idea he left to do other things. I wanted to finish the job quickly, so I poured out all the seed in one spot, decided that the job is done and went to play with my friends. I went to my father and told him that I didn’t have any more seed. My father thanked me and let me play. But the time came for the corn to grow up and it became obvious what kind of job I had done. Because of my irresponsibility my father was forced to plant corn all over, even though it was almost too late.

The lack of responsibility will follow us, because what we sow will eventually grow up!

It says in the Paul’s Epistle to Galatians (6:7),

«Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will not also reap».

Test the seed you have been sowing in your life! Is it the seed of responsibility or irresponsibility? The quality of life depends on it.

We will continue tomorrow!

God bless you!

Pastor Rufus Ajiboye
A responsible person is organized, disciplined and diligent even when nobody watches him or her.
