Today, I want to start a conversation about a very significant theme: Do You Hear What God Speaks.

God speaks constantly! The question is whether you hear what He says.

God created everything by His Word, and He holds everything together by the power of His Word.

“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3).

“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:3).

Once Jesus said,

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” (John 10:27-29).

In this excerpt, Jesus speaks about the sheep that hear His voice. Jesus said about them, “I give them eternal life.” He did not say, “I gavethem eternal life”. The word “gave” is the past form, and if Jesus had said that He had given eternal life, this would mean that God has already given eternal life and it is forever. But, as Jesus used the word “give”, this is understood as present tense, but not as the eternal life which we received after we repented by receiving Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Jesus speaks about every-day salvation which He grants us if we obey and follow His voice every day.

Once God opened my eyes to see the difference between the life of resurrection which we received after repentance, and the life in abundance which we enjoy every day. The life of resurrection is within us and we receive it the day we repent. But today we can meet very many people who have the life of resurrection, but they are unhappy. How many such believers do you know – they come to church but at the same time they are not satisfied with their lives? There are very many such people! What is the problem? The problem is that they have the life of resurrection, but they do not have the life in abundance. What is the difference between the life of resurrection and the life in abundance? Jesus said,

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:27-28).

By this, Jesus wanted to say that no shocks and no problems or obstacles will not snatch His sheep out of God’s hands as long as they hear His voice.

Whether we want it or not, we constantly hear someone’s voice.

Sometimes you can hear your voice of common sense, which impose and dictate to you certain thoughts. However, if you live by the voice of your common sense, you’ll never be able to enter the supernatural sphere, from which God initiates His works. Your mind cannot understand God, therefore life dictated by common sense prevents that you receive from God what He has prepared for you.

Bible says:

“However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”” (1.Corinthians 2:9).

If this is so, but the Bible – it is the truth, your common sense does not know the whole truth about your life, about your circumstances and your future. The common sense must not dictate us, what we believe or believe not. Every believer must learn to intentionally ignore the voice of common sense, especially when it does not coincide with what God says. You cannot hear God’s voice, if you listen all the time to the voice of your common sense.

May God richly bless you today!

We will meet tomorrow!

Pastor Rufus Ajiboye
God speaks constantly!
