I thank God for you and pray that this day would be filled with great victories over different life circumstance.

Yesterday we established that it is important to pray according to God’s will for our life. But God’s will hasn’t been revealed to you, we must seek out His will, because God answers only those prayers that comply with His will. The Word of God says:

«…good and acceptable and perfect will of God» (Romans, 12:2).

Prayer is one of the ways to find out the will of God. Why did Jesus say that He did nothing but what He saw His Father do? Why did Jesus pray? Why did He do what He did? Because He sought the will of God in prayer and received the revelation of God’s will.

Let’s look at Moses. God gave Moses the law; God told him to deal with the nation according to it. But while the nation of Israel was in desert Moses faced different situation that were not described in the law.

«Then came the daughters of Zelophehad the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, from the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph; and these were the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah. And they stood before Moses, before Eleazar the priest, and before the leaders and all the congregation, by the doorway of the tabernacle of meeting, saying: “Our father died in the wilderness; but he was not in the company of those who gathered together against the LORD, in company with Korah, but he died in his own sin; and he had no sons. Why should the name of our father be removed from among his family because he had no son? Give us a possession among our father’s brothers.” So Moses brought their case before the LORD. And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying: „The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right; you shall surely give them a possession of inheritance among their father’s brothers, and cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them. And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘If a man dies and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter. If he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers. If he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father’s brothers. And if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to the relative closest to him in his family, and he shall possess it.’” And it shall be to the children of Israel a statute of judgement, just as the LORD commanded Moses»(Numbers, 27:1-11).

This is a story of some sisters whose father had died. They came to Moses and asked for an inheritance among the brothers of their father, because their father had no sons. At that time inheritance was passed from man to man, from father to son. Moses did not know what to say to them, so he presented this need in prayer to God. Moses asked God what His will is for this situation and how he is supposed to act. And God answered him. And this answer became a part of the law.

There are many things which cause us to ask God in prayer: «God, what is Your will? I am seeking Your will. I want to know what You think about this situation. I am seeking Your face. I am searching for Your word. Lord, reveal Your will! » Seek, and you will find!

«Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened» (Mathew, 7:7-8).

I wish you God’s abundant blessings!

Pastor Rufus Ajiboye
Prayer is one of the ways to find out the will of God.
