Mercy and peace of our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you! Yesterday we discussed the necessity to think about God focusing our attention on Him, later it helps us to worship God in prayer.

Let´s see what people were focused on before the great flood:

«Yahweh saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.» (Genesis 6:5).

Thoughts and desires of their hearts had always been evil. I wish you realise that your thoughts are a part of your spiritual life. We read in the verse above that everything people were thinking about and searching for before the great flood was evil. That´s why they were unable to worship God. A person constantly focusing his his mind on evil things can´t see a reason to praise and worship God. Worship softens our hearts and brings peace that makes changes in your life. Therefore, it´s us who need worship not the God.

We worship God thinking about Him.

«Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers, backbiters, hateful to God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, unforgiving, unmerciful;» (Rom.1:28-31).

Thinking about God and His Majesty, focusing our mind on Him should become something we are constantly worried about. That´s what Jesus taught His disciples. You have to look at God with the eyes of your heart before you open your mouth for prayer.

Humble meditation of the God´s character He revealed to us is another way of how to worship Him. We receive His mercy when reading His Word, this, in turn, testifies about God´s character.

«I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever. Every day I will praise you. I will extol your name forever and ever. Great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised! His greatness is unsearchable. One generation will commend your works to another, And will declare your mighty acts. Of the glorious majesty of your honour, Of your wondrous works, I will meditate. Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness. They will utter the memory of your great goodness, And will sing of your righteousness.» (Psalm 144:1-7).

That´s what David is saying about his intention to meditate of God´s acts and His Majesty, His mercy and righteousness. People willing to worship God effectively meditate of His character. For example we say – God is love. You can begin thinking of God´s love towards you, your family members and so on. Doing so you will adore Him, you will also receive a revelation that God really is love. Once you start reasoning about the Almighty God, you realise you can do all things, just because the Almighty God is with you. Moreover, it´s not an agreement with your mind, but it came through your heart. That´s why worship is a transforming power that forms the way you think and helps you to focus your attention on God. The greater you see our God the smaller you see your problems, indeed.

Be blessed in the Lord! Meet you tomorrow again!
