The passage also stated the “How”. It read said if any man be IN CHRIST he will become a new creature. So the way to make a new start in life is to BE IN CHRIST.

I know that triggers another question and I want to answer that as well. HOW DOES A MAN COME TO BE IN CHRIST?

You do that by repenting and accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour.

What that means is this: change the direction your life is headed towards right now. If you continue in the way you are living right now, nothing will be new in your life. You cannot continue what you have always been doing and expect a different or new result. You have to repent or make a U- turn in your life so that things will become different.

Before that can happen, you have to acknowledge that your life is in the mess you find yourself in right now because you have been your own pilot and boss. So yield the control of your life to Christ and ask Him to direct your path from hence forth; then continue to grow in your relationship with Him as you yield yourself to Him daily.

The reason why you have to yield your life to Jesus is because He is the only one who can go into your past and straighten thin out; He is the only one who can teach you how to live in the present time, and he is the only one who holds your future.

So, new start in life is provided by a personal encounter with the risen and living Jesus Christ. He offers the opportunity and the resources to make a new start, despite all circumstances or failings.

The Bible records many encouraging examples of people who were able to start again after encountering Jesus. These include a woman caught in adultery who was facing execution by an outraged community, a hated tax collector named Zacchaeus who had been collaborating with the enemy, and Peter, the close friend of Jesus who publicly disowned him.

God’s provision of a new start liberates people from the powerful hold that guilt, fear and memories of failure can have over a human. The life, death and resurrection of Jesus have made a way for humans to find God’s forgiveness. A Christian is someone who has accepted God’s forgiveness and now has the freedom to reject the old habits of bitterness, anger or revenge, like disposing of a ‘tattered old coat’.

Is it possible to make a new start?
