Why does life exist?
This question is the same as asking: Why are we here? This is a question that has both plagued and challenged mankind for generations. Is there an ultimate answer to the question or everybody should just decide for themselves why their life exists? If we are willing to accept the Bible as truth, then we know the answer to “where did life originated from?” According to Scripture, we were created by God. Since He is the creator, it is obvious that God alone has the adequately answer to the question of why life exist. We are assured that everything He made, including the first man, was made for a particular end (Proverbs 16:4). So the next question is…why? After all, He is God, and as such, He certainly doesn’t need us for anything — so why did He create us? The original purpose of the first man’s creation was clear from the very beginning of the Bible; – we exist in order to know God, to do His will, to glorify Him, and to enjoy Him forever. God created us for His pleasure according to the following passage of the bible: “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Revelation 4: 11) “For by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:16). God made the first man in His own image, and in this, Adam and Eve were unique amongst all of God’s creatures (Genesis 1:27; Psalms 8:5-8). He made us to have fellowship with Himself; enjoy Him and His love forever (Genesis 3:9,10; Amos 4:13); It was intended that we should find our highest satisfaction in having God Himself as our friend (Psalms 27:1, 4); We were created to live in devoted dependence upon God and in Harmony with Him rule over the works of his hand (Matthew 4:4; Luke 10:27; Gen. 1:26-28). The original purpose of the first man’s creation ceased to be fulfilled when he rebelled against God. That is the reason why many people are struggling today with the searching for meaning in life. Until f we accept that the reason for life is to know God, love God, to enjoy Him and to live in harmony with his purposes, and that any other answer is both illogical and devoid of hope we will never find real satisfaction and true happiness in anything else. So, rest in the truth that you are not here by accident. You were planned and wanted by your Heavenly Father from before the beginning of time (Psalm 139).
