Never be stopped by problems!

Dear children of God, welcome to our column «Daily word for spiritual strength»!

Yesterday we concluded, that problems and trials are a test to all of us. This test either puts a shame on you and takes the Spirit of glory away from you or you will rejoice and get excited of the honour and opportunity to be tested.

It was also mentioned, that focusing ourselves not on sufferings, pain or problems but on the reward and the glory that are waiting for you at the end of the tunnel we receive power to reach that end.

On the next step we have to strengthen our spirit, so that we can draw strength and not give up walking through the valley of shadow of our life. That´s the topic for today.

The Bible states «A man’s spirit will sustain him in sickness, but a crushed spirit, who can bear?» (Proverbs 18:14). Satan wants to hit our spirit via hardships, trials and problems. When your spirit is strengthened, you can overcome any kind of weakness, get through all kind of hardships and trials. So how can we strengthen our spirit? God´s word and His promises strengthen our spirit and overcome weakness and sufferings. In order to not give up, we need to learn how to lean on the word of God and His promises – fully and unconditionally. We have to learn God´s faithfulness and realise that God will never forsake us unless we abandon Him ourselves.

Apostle Paul tells us a secret of how to stay cheerful when everything around us seems getting worse. That´s what he says in his letter to Corinthians:

« Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory; while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.» (2 Cor 4:16-18).

Paul stated that he learned to look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. We are able to look at the things which are not seen through our faith to the word of God and His promises. Those help us to see the image of victory more clearly, which, in turn, changes the circumstances around us. Outer circumstances have no power over the person (his soul, mind and thoughts) being constantly renewed internally through the word of God.

When we look at our situations God´s way (via His word), we are able to see opportunities and glory where the others see pain and sufferings. This is exactly what a psalmist is singing about:

«Passing through the valley of Weeping, they make it a place of springs. Yes, the autumn rain covers it with blessings. They go from strength to strength. Everyone of them appears before God in Zion.» (Psalm 83:6-8).

We may discover SPRINGS even in our valley. It fully depends on the way we respond to our problems. God wants us to rejoice facing problems: «knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.». (James 1:3).

Nevertheless, such attitude to trials is possible only when we look at them with God´s eyes.

Joy in the Lord is a real spiritual and physical strength! Strengthening our spirit and looking at our life with God´s eyes, we face problems with a great joy, so we are able to draw strength from Him and never give up! Finalising our today´s meditation I would like to say this: never be stopped by problems! Trust God´s victory and move forward, in the Name of Christ!

If you are going through a situation now, I pray that God´s light and revelation of the Holy Spirit dress you up and strengthen you for the victory in your case, in the Name of Jesus!

Lord bless you, my friends!

Do you often experience different hardships? Are you facing trouble everywhere you go? It can either be a spiritual attack or you are being disciplined by God Himself. How can you distinguish what exactly is going on with you? Let’s try to answer this question.A believer must learn to see the difference between spiritual warfare and God’s discipline. In different life situations we must firmly know whether we are disciplined by God or we are dealing with a spiritual attack that requires of us to get engaged in spiritual warfare.
  • Your gift will make room for you! II

«A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men» (Proverbs, 18: 16).Studying the church history, we see that all of God’s generals didn’t start big. These people used what they had and did whatever they could. They began using the abilities they had. Eventually, their gifts found their place in the Body of Christ and grew into large ministries. For example, Dr. T.L. Osborn saw that people needed salvation, so he started meeting this need to the best of his ability: he started printing little tracts on his printing machine and went door to door leaving them in their post boxes. At the time he couldn’t even imagine that it will lead him to huge international evangelistic ministry that he has today.
  • Lust brings sin, and sin brings death

«Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death. Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.» (James 1:13-17).
  • What is compassion?

We must understand that Jesus’ disciples were not perfect; quite the opposite, they are ordinary people with „character issues”. Jesus did not wait until they become perfect, but sent them out to serve people. He did not have anybody else to send; so He worked with what He had. And He is calling us to do the same today; it applies to every one who considers himself to be His disciple. Jesus desires for God’s children to be filled with compassion and to help people allowing God to touch all the people around them with His love.If we see someone perishing physically because of some illness, we do everything to save him. We often do not realize that unsaved people are spiritually ill, that they are perishing and need salvation. We must do everything in our power to save them. So our hearts need to go out to them with love and compassion.
  • Why it is necessary for us to make praise as a way of life

Praise as a demonstration of our faith in God. In Roman 4: 20 we are told that Abraham He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. One of the ways we can both demonstrate and build a strong faith in our lives is to learn to give glory. One way we can give glory to God is to believe Him, praise Him and holding unto His word despite the negative circumstances of life. Only those who believe God is in control of their lives and their situations can live such a life. But the truth is that we cannot enjoy the life of God until we learn to give glory to Him by demonstrating our faith in Him through praise on a daily basis.
