Life is short

I thank God for you and believe this day will bring you blessings as you continue to meditate on the word that proceeds from the mouth of God daily. Yesterday we mentioned that life is God’s trust to each of us. God has entrusted your life to you and everything else that you possess today. Nothing belongs to you, since everything belongs to God. Therefore, use your life and everything you have received from God to serve Him and to glorify His Name, use all your possessions and abilities to improve the life circumstances around you, to encourage and inspire other people. As long as you focus your thoughts on these things, God will continue to give you and more grace. If are desiring more grace, more anointing from God, all you need to do is just to properly use the one He has already given you. Your problems in life are not the things you do not possess yet. The question is how do you handle the resources you have at your disposal today? God has given you money, what do you spend it on? For example, God says you should pay tithe from your income, but you keep thinking day and night how to trick God and avoid doing this instead. How do you expect God who has assigned all these resources to you for His purposes to acts when He sees your disobedience to Him (remember, He sees everything!)? He can’t trust you with more of His resources if you are not a faithful manager of what you already have! When God required of Abraham to sacrifice his son, Abraham obeyed the Lord, because he knew his life was a trust from God. Abraham knew God had entrusted him with that child, therefore, the child belonged to God. Abraham understood that he was just God’s property manager. My faithfulness to God makes me qualified to receive more trust from God. Your faithfulness makes you worthy to receive more blessings. Abraham agreed to hand over to God the life of his child, so God saw He could trust Abraham. Having made a decision to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah for the sins committed by their inhabitants, God let Abraham know about His intentions. God knew Abraham’s heart, therefore He trusted him. Remember, life is a trust! Today we have another aspect of life that I want you to see and that is – life is short. All things we have mentioned so far are connected together. Life is time, life is a goal, life is a test, life is trust, and now life is short. This world as we know it now is not your home. God has a New Heaven and a new earth. The kingdom and the system of this world will be overthrown so that it becomes the Kingdom of our God and His Christ. Your life itself is regarded as a vapour that appears for a little time:
«Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away » (James 4:14).
The implication of this is that your time is short so you cannot waste it in unfruitful works of darkness. Each time you see a vapour it should remind you about how short your life is. The Bible also compares our life with a grass and a flower.
«The voice of one saying, Cry. One said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the glory of it is as the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of Yahweh blows on it; surely the people is grass. The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God shall stand forever.» (Isaiah 40:6-8).
The Bible also says we are foreigners and pilgrims in this world.
«Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims, …» (1st Peter 2:11).
Once we understand we are pilgrims, we realise our time is limited, so we have to do things very quickly. The day will come when the agent comes and takes us away. Death is the name of this agent. It may come any time, in any circumstances – like illness, accident, violence, war. Many people are afraid of death. Meanwhile, if you understand this fundamental truth, it will chase such fear away from you. You must understand that your life is short. It’s very important to know where and with whom you are going to spend eternity. You are given a certain time which is short. Afterwards, only one thing really matters – where you’ll spend eternity! Let me break one myth that lives in the Body of Christ! There is false teaching that says once a person has received forgiveness of his sins, salvation will always belong to him, regardless of the way he lives. Some people believe that once they repent of their sins and says the sinners prayer then they can live the anyway they want. These are lies! If you are saved keep your salvation, cling to and hold unto everlasting life (see 1 Timothy 6:12)! When we realise our life is short and each of us will once have to give an account to God for all our deeds in flesh, we will be prompted to choose the right values in our life. Everybody whose understanding of life is based on these five aspects would never relate to life superficially. Such people will never abuse life; they will never live just for existence but rather they will live their lives on purpose. That is exactly what it will take for any one to exert real influence in their world and to reach high places that the Lord has created them to be. May Lord continue to reveal the depth of His truth to each of you! Peace be multiplied! Rufus Ajiboye, pastor

  • The importance of stopping all activities and being alone with God

«From there He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden.»Jesus came to Tyra and Sidon to find some solitude and rest from people because His last day was coming closer – the day of His death on the Golgotha. Possibly, Jesus wanted to be alone with His Father to discuss what was awaiting Him on the Golgotha. Thus, Jesus was showing us an example of stopping all activities and being alone with God. We also need – every once in a while – to leave all the clutter of this world and all its cares and to find time for being alone with the Father. God is calling you today to find right time and a right place to be alone with God even among all the cares and stresses of this world. By doing it you will be able to gain access to godly wisdom, receive peace from God and succeed in this life.
  • What is calling? How to reveal personal calling and how to enter it?

Recognising of your calling and your task in this life is a process that consists of many small details. Quite often, people try to reveal their calling, while neglecting those small details that make the whole process. Nowadays, many people are unhappy because they either lack revelation for their life or oppose to such revelation, or simply lack understanding of how to fulfil the revelation. Let´s figure it all out.First thing to know is the fact that you were born to carry out a certain task. Bible says our life on this Earth has a goal and value determined. You are not a result of an accident! You were born on this Earth not just for the matter of occupying some space and breathing. You´ve got a mission to fulfil, a way to measure. You are created to take care for others and saved to minister. There many places in the Bible talking about this. We are going to elaborate the verse from Paul´s letter to Ephesians 2:10

  • Be faithful in small things; then God will set you over many things! II

Do not compare yourself with other people, but always check whether you are faithful to God. Are you faithful to God in the area of being a good steward of the resources God has entrusted you?Jesus’ parable of talents says that after the lord returned and settled accounts with his first two servants that had multiplied their talents, he did not just praise them for their faithfulness; he also blessed and promoted them: «…you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things».
  • Our highest calling – to reveal God in our flesh

The Bible says: «For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him» (John, 1:17-18).The law can never save people because the law only reveals the sinful nature of man. The law was given in order for people to realize their need for God and His help. It was Jesus who brought to us the truth and the grace that conveys spiritual power necessary to live in accordance with God’s will. Anyone who will accept this truth and grace will have the power to live a holy life and become an instrument in God’s hand that is able to manifest or declare God’s truth and grace to other people.
