How does a truly responsible person look like? III

Greetings to you, dear friends! For several days now we have been talking about a very important topic – “Responsibility as a Key to Success”. For every one us it is important to be responsible. Life of a responsible person will be rewarding. God loves responsible people because He Himself is responsible. Our God keeps His Word. It says in the Bible:
«..for You (God) have magnified Your word above all Your name» (Psalm 138:2b).
We are the children of God, created in the image and after the likeness of God. If our God takes responsibility for what He has said, He expects the same from us. Besides, He does not mean for us to do it on our own; He has sent to us the Helper, Teacher, Comforter and Advocate – the Holy Spirit to be with us at all times. We have established that a responsible person:– does not forget what he has been told or assigned to do;– keeps his word and his promises;– does not blame others for their mistakes, but tries to see his own deficiencies and eliminate them;– is organized, disciplined and diligent even when nobody watches him;– is trustworthy and reliable;– is faithful, loyal and honest.
  1. 6Besides, a responsible person can be trusted concerning the quality of his work.
Whatever a responsible person does for others, he does it like for himself. There is practically no follow-up necessary. If you are this type of a person you always do your best. We know that all young children are irresponsible. Responsibility is a quality of the mature. For example, a child may start doing something and never finish; you have to finish for them and sometimes even redo the whole thing.Have you ever told a 3-year-old to go wash by himself? The result will be wet feet, dry back, soapy hair etc. A child does not understand quality; that is why everything he does must be redone. If a child washes dishes, you have to wash them all over again. A responsible person not only does something; he finishes what he has started and guarantees good quality.
  1. A responsible person does not hide from problems, but solves them.
Such a person does not flinch from his responsibilities using different circumstances as an excuse.
  1. A responsible person is ready to pay full price in order to reach the goal and complete the assignment.
A responsible person does his best to reach the goal and to complete the task set before him or her. For this sake he is ready to work late and to get up early. We can see that in the life of Jesus.
«And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when evening came, He was alone there. But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea» (Mathew, 14:23-25).
Here we see that Jesus did not sleep on that night. Responsibility motivates a person to give everything he can give in order to reach the goal and complete the task.
«In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?” Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” (John, 4:31-35).
“I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work” (John, 9:4)
We see that Jesus not only gave all His energy to the fulfilment of God’s will, but also wanted to see that it happens as soon as possible.Apostle Paul also was responsible with his calling. He said,
“..so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts, 20:24).
What is your attitude towards your calling? How do you treat what God says to you through His Word? How do you spend the time given to you? How do you use the talents that have been bestowed upon you?So many important questions we need not only to ask ourselves, but also answer.Tomorrow we will talk about why people choose irresponsibility.God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others

Today I would like to start discussing about the blessedness or beauty of serving others.Ministry is a widespread concept among believers. In essence, ministry is giving of all things: giving of one’s talents and gifts, one’s knowledge and time, one’s heart and resources. The Kingdom of God is built through such giving. Your church is built by your giving and ministry. It says in the Bible that it is more blessed to give than to receive. God blesses those who serve, so if you want to get to the top of God’s blessedness learn to serve God and people.
  • Value God’s Word! II

«Therefore whoever hears these saying of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these saying of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on the house; and it fell. And great was its fall» (Mathew, 7:24-27)
  • How to find and fulfil God’s will?

What do we really mean when we ask ourselves: «What is God’s will for me?» The majority of people want to know: «What is God’s plan for me in this situation? What would be the right decision in this situation?»We want to receive some directions and instructions from God in various life situations. We want to know God’s voice, since knowing His voice leads to knowing His will. God also wants every one of us to know His will in all things.
  • Life without prayer is a road to nowhere

When a person repents, he can start developing his prayer life. We must know that God does not turn away from us even when we do not pray. God is very patient and He wants us to understand that without prayer we are spiritually weak and unable to enter the things He has prepared for us. Effective prayer is the thing that opens a way for us and allows God to walk ahead of us. God waits until we come to full realization of it. He is good to His children, but His goodness must lead us to repentance. Many people do not understand it. Sometimes we do things that go against God’s orders and at the same time we feel like it is alright.
  • The lordship of Jesus Christ

The phrase „Jesus is Lord!” is quite often used by the children of God. But being the children of God, we cannot treat this concept in a superficial or religious manner. The lordship of Jesus has a deep spiritual meaning. We should not casually proclaim or declare His lordship without the correct understanding of what it really implies. God wants us today to discover for ourselves what the true essence of the lordship of Jesus is and to act accordingly.
  • What fruit does God want to see in our lives?

The souls of the people that have repented and come back to God. Every person that has come back to God is like a fruit. Every repented soul is the product of someone’s fruit that before God. God wants to see as many people as possible meeting Jesus and making Him the Lord of their lives through you. When we help people to meet Jesus and accept His lordship, we bear fruit that glorify God.
