We must be grateful to God in all things!

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to the „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!Yesterday we established that the more you see God, the less you see your problems.I will never forget how I prayed to God once, being in a very difficult situation and God told me, “If the only thing you see is the mountain of your problems, then it will be bigger than your God, and it won’t change unless you stop focusing on the problems. If you focus on your problem and think about your pain, then it grows bigger and does not change and it gets rooted in your life. But if you stop looking at your hurt and focus on God and get to know Him, then you are able to see His greatness and power, – and then your ‘mountain’ grows smaller and smaller”.This word encouraged me. Worship teaches us to think about God and not the problem. Worship changes us. If you worship God every day, we are able to see Him and His great abilities. Paul says:
«For in Him we live and move and have our being…» (Acts, 17:28).
The next thing that helps us to worship God is declaration of our adoration towards God.
„I will praise You with my whole heart; before the gods I will sing praises to You. I will worship toward Your holy temple, and praise Your name for Your loving-kindness and Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name. In the day when I cried out, Your answered me, and made me bold with strength in my soul. All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O LORD, when they hear the words of Your mouth» (Psalm, 138:1-4).
David said that he would keep silent, but praise God, because his God is great and helps him at any time. David loudly declared God’s greatness, power and mercy. The other side of worship is thanksgiving. If worship is pondering upon God, His character, His qualities, then thanksgiving is an expression of my gratitude toward God. There is always something to thank God for. Lack of gratitude, grumbling, complaining – these are the things that grieve God. Because of them the nation of Israel did not enter the Promised Land. God did so much for Israel, but they never stopped grumbling. We as parents feel hurt when we see out children unhappy and ungrateful. Sometimes it makes us cry. It also hurts God when His children do not notice the blessings He has given us. Let’s not grieve God, – let’s make Him happy by being grateful and praising Him. We make God happy when we are grateful. «In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you» (1 Thessalonians, 5:18).We must be grateful to God in all things. When things go fine and when God answers our prayers, it is easy to thank God, – at those times we thank God and adore Him. But as soon as God decides to answer us in a way that does not fit our plans, we start thinking whether there is any sense in prayer. The Bible calls us to thank God in everything. The Bible calls us to praise God aloud so that other people would hear it. Be grateful to God, praise him, and sing to Him – aloud! Thanksgiving is the very model of prayer that Jesus gave to His disciples.
 «In everything give thanks» (1 Thessalonians, 5:18).
Abundant God’s blessings to you on this day!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus AjiboyeПастор Руфус Аджибойе

  • In order for us to do the works of Jesus, we must ask for it in prayer!

«Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son» (John, 14:12-13).When Jesus Himself says ‘most assuredly’, it means He wants us to pay attention. These two verses are connected. Jesus says that we can do the works that Jesus did and even more, if we pray. Jesus tried to tell His disciples that He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth and that He will represent them in heaven, because He will be sitting with Him on the heavenly throne. Jesus told His disciples that they should ask in His name and that He would do what they ask so that His Father would be glorified.
  • We change and become the partakers of God’s nature through the knowledge of God and His promises

«..as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust» (2 Peter, 1:3-4).
  • The Kingdom of God III

Jesus brought God’s Kingdom to this earth and He wants us to be involved in the process of expanding His Kingdom here, on the earth. God wants His Kingdom to triumph over the earth. And there is no need to discuss whether it is going to happen or not, – this matter is already resolved; it will surely happen. What you need to decide is whether this spreading out will happen with your involvement or without it.I am sure that every believer that sincerely loves God desires to be part of this process, desires to have the Kingdom of God not only within him, but also to spread it all around.
  • On what does your destiny depend? II

«My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life» (Proverbs, 4:20-23). Based on this Scripture, we can argue that the course of your life, my destiny or yours should not depend on somebody else but on ourselves. You must take charge of your life and destiny!
  • It is the content of your heart that determines where your life is heading! III

«A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks» (Luke, 6:45).Some people continually blame others and their hearts are full of negative things, fear, insecurities. The reason is that they have allowed these things to enter their hearts and settle in. Whatever you let in, the same things also goes out.
  • What else forgiveness brings into our life

    2. Forgiveness gives us strength to walk through the stages of our life.& «Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.». (Hebrews 12:1-2).
