Jesus got to know God´s will and fulfilled His mission

Good day dear friends!Thank God for this wonderful day God has given to us! Thanks for another opportunity to get filled with His living word! Yesterday we mentioned that Jesus knew His coming into this world was not an accident even at the time of His childhood. Jesus discovered His mission by reading the Holy Scriptures and having fellowship with Father. He clearly knew and declared to people that: «It is written about me in the book in the scroll. I delight to do your will, my God.”».The following verses from Scriptures tell us how Jesus revealed the God´s will in His life and how He carried out the God´s plan through His life.
«Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears: Burnt offering and sin offering you have not required. Then I said, “Behold, I have come. It is written about me in the book in the scroll. I delight to do your will, my God. Yes, your law is within my heart.”». (Psalms 40:6-8)

«For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire, But a body did you prepare for me; In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you had no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (In the scroll of the book it is written of me) To do your will, God.’” Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law), then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second, by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.» (Hebrews 10:4-10).
For the fact that Jesus got to know God´s will and fulfilled His mission we can enter the presence of God, receive forgiveness of our sins and get answers to our prayers today. It´s important to notice that fate of many people depends on do we or do we not fulfil our mission and God´s will in our lives. In case we fail to accomplish the mission, some people will not enter their fate or the fulfilment of their mission will experience a delay. That´s why Jesus treated God´s will and its fulfilment in the most serious way. The job of His Father who sent Him was the highest priority in Jesus life.Apostle John writing His gospel paid huge attention to the way Jesus treated God´s will. Below are some verses that may help you to see Jesus attitude to God´s will.
«Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me, and to accomplish his work.» (John 4:34).
Food gives us energy and strength that keep our body alive, but Jesus lived by God´s will alone. He simply couldn´t live without it. God´s will was the source of strength and inspired Him at the moments He felt exhausted. Jesus valued God´s will higher than food for body.
«For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me». (John 6:38).
«He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn’t left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him». (John 8:29).
«I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge, and my judgement is righteous; because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me». (John 5:30).
All these verses show to us what the correct attitude of true Christians towards God´s will should be like. With His life and attitude Jesus set the model of how to reveal and fulfil God´s will in our lives.Let me advise you to stop wasting your life. You´d better dedicate your time to seeking God´s will for your life and how to fulfil it, so that at the end of your life you can say what Jesus said:
«I glorified you on the earth. I have accomplished the work which you have given me to do». (John 17:4).
 Lord bless you!Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

  • In our lives we must reflect the life, the power and the nature of Christ

You should not forget that you are God’s ambassadors on earth. When you face a problem or a difficult situation, think of what Jesus would have done if He were in a similar situation. This will help you. Christ is the One we represent on this earth. Think of what He would say, how He would solve the problem, how He would go through the situation you are facing today. If you think about like Christ thinks and you develop or grow in the nature of God, then you will become a strong and influential ambassador of God in your sphere of influence; you will ‘salty’ and you will be bright light in this world.
  • Life is a trust

You should understand there is nothing that belongs to you. Your life itself is not yours, it’s a trust God has shown to you. Understanding this truth changes the way you respond to what is going on around you.You do not live for yourself; you did not appear on this Earth by your own act of will or for your own personal purpose. God has given life to you as a sign of His trust for you. You are entrusted with life from God and the day will come when you will have to give account to God for the life He given to you, – for all your deeds and words while living in your body.
  • How we can determine whether something we experience is God’s discipline or the attack of the enemy

Do you often experience different hardships? Are you facing trouble everywhere you go? It can either be a spiritual attack or you are being disciplined by God Himself. How can you distinguish what exactly is going on with you? Let’s try to answer this question.A believer must learn to see the difference between spiritual warfare and God’s discipline. In different life situations we must firmly know whether we are disciplined by God or we are dealing with a spiritual attack that requires of us to get engaged in spiritual warfare.
  • Are you in bondage, in the wilderness or in your promise land?

We read about how God promised the children of Israel a land flowing with milk and honey, but when it came time to possess it, as a nation they were not ready. There are attitudes that keep you in bondage and wandering in the wilderness, while a promised land flowing with milk and honey awaits you. The Bible is full of the record of sins that plagued the rest of the children of Israel which we are to be aware of today in our lives.
  • Worthy Goal for Life II

Yesterday we started talking about our goals. Everyone has them. We discussed that there are worthy and less worthy goals. We also saw that after meeting Christ, Paul devoted his life to Him; earnest expectation of Christ to be glorified in his body and through his life became his main goal in life. It is very important to ascertain for ourselves what our goals are.You and I have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we have peace with God. But it is just the beginning. Having been reconciled with God is just the beginning of the Christian walk. What awaits us afterwards? Through faith we gain Access to God’s grace and we expect the glory of God to be progressively revealed in us and through us.
  • Why we can’t grow spiritually if we do not serve others?

Here is one of the reasons why we can’t grow spiritually if we do not serve others. If we do not serve we become like those who only receive and not give out. Sooner or later such a person starts to stink spiritually. Look at any body of water that water flows into but doesn’t flow out of. After some time this water becomes stagnant and lifeless.
