Hidden wisdom

Welcome, precious children of God, to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! I pray for the grace of God to fill your life this day.

Today I would like to start discussing a new topic: „Hidden treasure” or „Hidden wisdom”. There is wisdom that is revealed and open for some people and continues to open daily; but for some people, this wisdom is like hidden treasure they are not able to enjoy. It is the Word of God that is God’s treasure. Today we will talk about God’s Word and about our attitude towards it. The people that have the Bible have a true treasure at their disposal.

We – the children of God — believe God’s Word to be the truth and the true revelation of God to the human race. We believe the Bible to be God’s personal word addressed to each of us. But I have discovered that many people are totally indifferent towards it. We defend the Bible; we try to prove to unbelievers that the Bible is God’s Word. We say that it is important to read it and believe it. But at the same time many believers do not read it and do not treat it as a treasure that it is.

There are several reasons that have caused this situation. My purpose today is to help us change our attitude towards the Bible. If we feed on the Word of God, then this Word helps us personally and changes our environment.

We know that it is important to read the Bible. But some believers open it only during church services; all the rest of the time it is closed. Yes, we do have such believers. There is another category of believers – those that only read the Bible when they are with other believers.

God encouraged me to speak about these things today and to be very stern. We must respect the Bible – the treasure God has entrusted us. We must read it. But it is not whether we know that we should read it. The problem is that we know it but we do not do it.

So many people do not read the Bible because they are lazy. Many do not enjoy it, because they do not have the adequate understanding of how to study it. So their every attempt to ready the Bible brings them disappointment. It is like eating the food that is not tasty, – over time it becomes nauseating. In his mind, a person understands that the Bible is God’s Word to him personally; but at the same time he experiences dissatisfaction when he attempts to read it. In time he totally loses the desire to open it.

I would like to share with you some ideas that can help you in your study of the Bible. God desires for every believer to enjoy the reading and study of the Bible. He wants us to have good appetite towards it and we would not to spend even one day without the Bible and the joy of reading it.

Let’s see what the Bible says about the importance of reading it. Until we understand what the Bible is, there won’t be much sense in doing it. I do not ready it because it is a law for me. I read it because I have the right inner motivation; I have inner stimuli because I understand the significance of the Bible in my life. If a person does not understand it, he is neglectful towards God’s Word; he might only read it when he is ‘in the mood’ for it. But that kind of attitude is not beneficial. My desire is for us to be established in the Word. But a person cannot be established if he only listens to sermons and does not personally study the Holy Scripture.

The Bible bids every one of us to study the Scripture:

«You search the Scripture, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me» (John, 5:39).

Everyone that calls himself to be a disciple of Jesus Christ must research the Scripture. In order to do it we must have proper motivation. This motivation originates from the right understanding of why a person must study the Bible.

Tomorrow we will discuss what the Bible says about itself and why it is important to study it. I believe it will help us change our attitude towards the Bible and will make us spiritually stronger.

God bless you!

Till tomorrow!

Yesterday we saw the example of Lord Jesus Christ Himself, but today we are going to see the example of prophet Isaiah. • What is a breakthrough? II

Breakthrough always changes a person’s status and position. Today, I want to draw your attention to the fact that in this story, not only the crippled man experienced a breakthrough but also Peter and John, the Apostles. Not only the cripples need a breakthrough. Every person needs a breakthrough!Along with the crippled man, also Peter and John, the Apostles, experienced a breakthrough, because miracles that had not happened beforein through their ministry took place exactly on that day. Ever since then, different miracles never ceased in their lives and ministries. Even the shadow of Peter who started healing the sick as he passed by them. Imagine what will happen to you when you begin to experience a continual breakthrough in every sphere of your life.

  • Change always comes through prayer! III

During the past few days we have been talking about the idea of a person being the main initiator of the miracles he needs in his life. In order for God to be able to do something supernatural in the individual’s life this individual must create the natural platform or foundation for this miracle. When you mix your distress with prayer, then the miracle will surely happen and you will have true and undisputable proof of God’s miracle and His supernatural intervention.
