God’s purpose for the earth and the role of people in it III

Peace to you, dear readers of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! We continue talking about how important it is for every one of us to realize our role and function in the earth. We saw that God created men in His image and according to His likeness so that we could fellowship with Him – spirit to Spirit. God created us in His image and likeness so that we would be able to accept His nature, holiness, His love and righteousness. God also did that in order for us to be able to walk in the supernatural dimension and to reproduce His nature in other people, thus multiplying and spreading His nature. God wants the earth to be filled with His nature and subjected to Him through His children. Today many people mostly emphasize different manifestations, anointing, gifts, talents and personal development. All of these things are important. But if we neglect the development of God’s character in us and do not make it a priority, if we forget to draw near to God and fellowship with Him, then we are doing not the will of God, but instead carrying out our own will. And as a result we are not able to bring glory to God. Let’s read a passage from Mathew: «You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them» (Matthew, 7:16-20). Here we see that Jesus pointed to the human character as it determines the type of fruit we bear. A person can be focused on fruit (by fruit we mean our actions, physical activities, our visible life), but not have God’s nature developed in him or her. A person can spend his or her energy on developing different personal qualities and doing works that appear good, but not have godly character. Without God’s nature in us we won’t ever be able to bear good fruit. A tree bears good fruit if its nature is good. God speaks a lot about our lives using the symbol of a tree. If I the root system of a tree is rotten, the whole tree too and the fruit it bears will be bad as well. So before getting to ‘work for God’, we should concentrate on building God’s character into our root system. That is the reason why God created us in His image and according to His likeness before he ever asked us to do anything. As we read further in Matthew 7, Jesus continues to say: «Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! » (Matthew, 7:21-23). Jesus says that human activities might appear beautiful, anointed and praiseworthy. But that is not what impresses God the most. The most important and impressive thing to God is not our action but the nature from which we are operating. By the way, it is not us that heal or prophesy or cast out demons, – God does all of it through us. It is a lot easier to demonstrate the power and authority of God, than it is show love to our neighbors. Love is what God expects of us. God tells us to love one another. Do you love the people he has asked you to love or are you just boasting of the things that God is doing through you by His sovereign grace? The gifts of the Spirit are what God’s Spirit does through us. However, when we identify ourselves with God and allow His love to move us, then we are able to spread His life around us; then we are able to rule and reign on earth. We will continue tomorrow! May God bless every one of you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Does the Lord answer all prayers?

«If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.» (John 15:7).There is a God´s promise in this scripture: «whatever you desire, and it will be done for you.» Which one of you had prayed for something but it was not given to you? I guess many of you had, so where is the problem? We often read in the Bible that people prayed and received the answer to their prayers. God Himself told us to pray, and He promised to answer our prayers.
  • Fight for the lives of your children, your family and friends!

You know that in the history of revivals the key role was played by praying women, because God had given them the burden of prayer for the lives other people. Women know how to carry things that distress them and bear them before God. That is why prayer is one of the purposes of mothers. Mother’s prayers are so powerful! Mother’s prayer reaches the goal! Mother’s prayer brings freedom to her children! So if you are a mother, God expects unceasing prayers from you, until the necessary answer comes. Do not stop praying for your children. Children need your prayers, and other people need your prayers.
  • In order for you to be constant in this life you need to overcome human factor!

«And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” But He answered her not a word» (Mathew, 15: 22-23). At the time when a woman from Canaan was following Jesus and asking for help, His disciples were telling her to leave. That is what I call a human factor.
  • The Kingdom of God III

Jesus brought God’s Kingdom to this earth and He wants us to be involved in the process of expanding His Kingdom here, on the earth. God wants His Kingdom to triumph over the earth. And there is no need to discuss whether it is going to happen or not, – this matter is already resolved; it will surely happen. What you need to decide is whether this spreading out will happen with your involvement or without it.I am sure that every believer that sincerely loves God desires to be part of this process, desires to have the Kingdom of God not only within him, but also to spread it all around.
  • How do we know if we have the fear of God in our lives?

The first way to know this is to understand that the fear of God expresses itself in a hatred of evil.“To fear the Lord is to hate evil; I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech” (Prov. 8:13) (see also Prov. 3:7; 14:16; 16:6; 23:17; Job. 1:1,8; ; II Cor. 7:1). This is just the opposite of the wicked (Eccl. 8:13—”Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow”). (see also Prov. 1:29; Ps. 36:1-4. ).
  • In order for us to be the salt for the earth and the light of the world, we must demonstrate particular qualities

«Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you»
