What is a breakthrough?

I greet you on this wonderful day and I pray that the presence of God is with you throughout this day! Today I want to share with you the word about breakthrough. Talking about breakthrough, I want to draw your attention to a popular story from the Bible. This story is written in the book of Acts of Apostles:
“One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said, “Look at us!” So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man’s feet and ankles became strong. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God. When all the people saw him walking and praising God,they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.” (Acts 3:1-10)
This is a story of a man who was crippled from birth, and he momentarily experienced breakthrough. This story includes several godly principles that will help every person to achieve a breakthrough in any sphere of their lives. This is what I want to talk about today. I believe that breakthrough is knocking at your door at this moment. Open your heart to a wonderful and unforgettable experience with God.What is a breakthrough? How does it benefit you?  In order to experience a breakthrough, it is necessary to understand what it is and why we need it. These are some explanations what is meant when we talk about breakthrough:
  • Breakthrough – it destroys any barriers (satanic or human) that put limitations in our lives.
  • Breakthrough – it changes your tragedies into testimonies.
  • Breakthrough – it turns your illnesses into wellbeing.
  • Breakthrough – it changes your disappointments into opportunities.
  • Breakthrough – it provides transition from hardships to comfort.
This is exactly what this crippled man experienced when he met face to face with the power of God and this is what needs to begin in your life starting from today. This crippled man had been in that position for already more than forty years.
“For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.” (Acts 4:22)
For all these years, this man had been dependent on others in his basic needs.
  • As he could not walk himself, other people carried him around every day.
  • To have food, every day he depended on other people’s mercy.
  • It is possible that he did not even have a name. In the Bible, it is not mentioned what his name was. He was just called the crippled man. Perhaps his parents had abandoned him right after he was born and therefore had not given him a name. But…
Praise Almighty God, Who gives us a breakthrough. A breakthrough lifts a person on a new level and changes their status in life. Today God wants to give you a breakthrough. Will you receive it for your situation? Maybe it will apply to your illness, or perhaps you have financial difficulties? You might be in enormous debts, your family might be in crisis, or your company is going bankrupt. Maybe you have lost the healthy control over your children, or they cause you to be in unbearable pain. Whatever your situation might be, God is able to give you a breakthrough. Step on this road and your present status will turn into an honorable and respectable status. The crippled man received a breakthrough and all his life changed. Now he could walk himself, instead of others carrying him. Instead of begging every day, he could earn his living and help others. A breakthrough changes person’s status for a lifetime. May the mercy for a breakthrough come over you starting today! Tomorrow we will continue this topic. Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

We talked about Hannah who did not give up even though she was barren and was being humiliated by other people; she kept on believing God and trusting that He would send her a miracle into her life and give her a baby. She did not plunge into despair and sense of helplessness, but daily brought her needs before God in fervent prayer.

  • Presence of God V

God so desires for us to seek Him early in the morning. He so desires for us to return to Him. He wants to heal us and to bind up our wounds. God so wants to revive and restore us, so that we could live before Him. When we seek the Lord, when we seek to know Him, He comes and immerses us into His presence; He pours out His rain on us and waters the earth.Yesterday we talked about how Moses set up a tabernacle outside the camp for all seekers of the Lord. We also saw that instead of entering the tabernacle and seeking the face of the Lord, Israelites were simply observing how Moses spoke to God and how God answered Moses.
  • Jesus was constantly seeking the God´s will for His life

Reading the Bible we see how Jesus was growing and being filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him. Jesus was constantly seeking the God´s will for His life, in order to set a good example for us. If Jesus had got to know God´s will using His divine nature instead, He wouldn´t have set a role model to us nor we wouldn´t be able to follow his steps today. Jesus stayed longer in the Temple after the feast of Passover in Jerusalem while other people had already left for home (see Luke 2:41-51). What was Jesus doing there and why did He stay longer in the Temple? He stayed there to listen to the scribes and to question them. That´s one of His secrets where His wisdom came from. Jesus studied the Scriptures. He attended the Temple and asked questions, prayed and leaned closer to God, His Father.
  • Are you in bondage, in the wilderness or in your promise land?

We read about how God promised the children of Israel a land flowing with milk and honey, but when it came time to possess it, as a nation they were not ready. There are attitudes that keep you in bondage and wandering in the wilderness, while a promised land flowing with milk and honey awaits you. The Bible is full of the record of sins that plagued the rest of the children of Israel which we are to be aware of today in our lives.
  • Rejoice in the Lord!

The Bible says that «God loves a cheerful giver» (2 Corinthians, 9:7). So it says that God not only loves givers, but He delights in cheerful giving. It is so essential for us no only to serve God, but also to do it with joy.
