Allow you trouble to enlarge you instead of breaking you

Hello friends! You are welcome to our daily word for the day. God word for you today is this: allow you trouble to enlarge you instead of breaking you.Trouble can either break you or make you. It all depends on your reaction. We will examine the example of David and allow him to teach us today how to react in difficult situation.
“Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. 2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. 3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. 4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. 6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. 7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. 8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:1-8).
We can see from our text that people has turned David’s glory into shame and make mockery of him and of his God. However in all these situations, David’s reaction was to trust the Lord and act righteously. He reacted to his troubles in a godly manner by following the principles of God’s kingdom,- the principle of faith and love. David acted rightly because of his knowledge of God. He called upon the Lord and the Lord answered him. God doesn’t answer all prayers, but God has set apart for himself the godly to answer whenever they call upon him. If you act godly in all situations of life, God has promised you that you will prosper like a tree by the river side; bear fruits in your season and you will never wither or faint. The godly will prosper and grow despite all the odds of life because he doesn’t walk in the ways of the sinner nor sit in the seat of scoffers; rather he meditates on the law of God day and night. This is why his reaction to trouble is godly. David said he could sleep peacefully despite his trouble and his heart was full with gladness more than those who have material gains. Why? David has learned react to life situation in faith and cultivated the act of walking in love. When the whole situation was over, David could say that his troubled has not decreased him, but has rather enlarged him: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress God word for you today is this: allow your trouble to enrich and enlarge you instead of allowing them to break you. Remember, you cannot always control what happen to you, you can control your reaction and it is your reaction that is what will determine your destiny. May the Lord enlarge you through your troubles in Jesus Name! See you tomorrow Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • How do we make sure that the Word of God abides in us? II

When I hear the preaching of God’s Word, God speaks to me through someone else. When I read the Word, God speaks to me directly. There are things He wants to speak to me personally, without mediators. God wants me to fellowship with Him so that He can teach me. When you hear the word through the other preaching of people, you can hear things that you do not fully understand or you might even say you do not agree with some things. However, when you fellowship with God through the reading of His Word and God reveals some things to you, you cannot say it is someone else’s opinion.
  • Life without prayer is a road to nowhere II

    1. Set apart some time for prayer and commit to it.2. Plan where you will pray.It does not have to be at home, but you also do not need to turn prayer into some religious ritual. Be creative when you choose the place for prayer. For instance, there was a time in my life when I made walking into prayer time. I called it “a prayer walk”. I went out in the street for the purpose of prayer.
  • The generosity and hospitality that opens doors for God’s intervention

“The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day. Abraham looked up and saw three men standing nearby. When he saw them, he hurried from the entrance of his tent to meet them and bowed low to the ground. He said, “If I have found favour in your eyes, my lord, do not pass your servant by. Let a little water be brought and then you may all wash your feet and rest under this tree. Let me get you something to eat, so you can be refreshed and then go on your way – now that you have come to your servant.” “Very well,” they answered, “do as you say.” “Where is your wife Sarah?” they asked him. “There in the tent,” he said. Then the Lord said, “I will surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a son.” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, which was behind him.”
  • What are the grounds or foundations of favour? III

“Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” (2 Tim.2:19)Practical righteousness is the solid foundation on which to build your Christian life and ensure that you receive God’s favour. If as a Christian you still continue to live in sin and make it part of your lifestyle, then you are eliminating yourself from God’s favour.
  • The Importance of God’s will

Today I would like to start talking about „The Importance of God’s will”. The Holy Scripture says: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” (Mathew, 7: 21). The Bible calls every one of us to have sound mind, especially in learning the will of God for his or her life.«Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is» (Ephesians, 5:18).Why is it so important to allocate some time for seeking out the will of God? Why is understanding of God’s will so necessary for a person? It is because the understanding of God’s will determine both our happiness here, on earth, and our status in the future, in eternity.
