Allow you trouble to enlarge you instead of breaking you

Hello friends! You are welcome to our daily word for the day. God’s word for you today is this: allow your trouble to enlarge you instead of breaking you.Trouble can either break you or make you. It all depends on your reaction. We will examine the example of David and allow him to teach us today how to react in difficult situations.
“Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. 2 O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. 3 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. 4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. 6 There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. 7 Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased. 8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:1-8).
We can see from our text that people have turned David’s glory into shame and made a mockery of him and of his God. However in all these situations, David’s reaction was to trust the Lord and act righteously. He reacted to his troubles in a godly manner by following the principles of God’s kingdom, the principles of faith and love. David acted rightly because of his knowledge of God. He called upon the Lord and the Lord answered him. God doesn’t answer all prayers, but God has set apart for himself the godly to answer whenever they call upon him. If you act godly in all situations of life, God has promised you that you will prosper like a tree by the riverside, bear fruit in your season, and you will never wither or faint. The godly will prosper and grow despite all the odds of life because he doesn’t walk in the ways of sinners nor sit in the seat of scoffers; rather, he meditates on the law of God day and night. This is why his reaction to trouble is godly. David said he could sleep peacefully despite his trouble, and his heart was filled with gladness more than those who have material gains. Why? David has learned to react to life’s situations in faith and has cultivated the act of walking in love. When the whole situation was over, David could say that his troubles had not decreased him, but had rather enlarged him: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress God’s word for you today is this: allow your trouble to enrich and enlarge you instead of allowing it to break you. Remember, you cannot always control what happens to you, but you can control your reaction, and it is your reaction that will determine your destiny. May the Lord enlarge you through your troubles in Jesus’ name! See you tomorrow. There are many things that drive people’s life, motivate them and influence their system of values. Many believers are driven by wrong motives today. In order to live strategically you definitely have to ask yourself these questions: “Why do I do what I do?”, “What are my secret motives?”, “What values influence my life?”, “What affects my decisions and my choice?”, “What is driving me in the spending of my money and time?”, “What drives my life?”
  • God wants prayer to become priority in the lives of His children!

Everything that devil has bound up in your life – your miracle, your promises, – can be released to you by the supernatural power of God. But for it to happen, prayer must become your number 1 priority.Take any Bible story and you will see what powerful prayer of believers is able to accomplish. For example, what did Daniel do when he was thrown into lions’ den? Did he pray? No, it was too late to pray. He had been praying long before he got to this point in his life. It is too late to pray when you are in a den with some lions. You must pray before anything like that happens! Daniel prayed three times a day every day.
  • It is the content of your heart that determines where your life is heading!

God wants His people to know His Word – the truth which sets us free from lies and sin. The Bibles says that Jesus came to give us life – life in abundance. God’s life is contained in His Word. God’s wisdom and might is contained in His Word! God wants you to realise what great treasure there is for you in His Word. This treasure is not comparable with any silver or gold. God’s Word – it is a jewel beyond price, everlasting, and it brings health, answers and solutions.
  • How God punishes and disciplines His children II

«Poverty and shame will come to him who disdains correction, but he who regards a rebuke will be honoured» (Proverbs, 13:18).We can see once again that financial difficulties in the lives of these people were not sent by God; they were the result of them rejecting the teaching and instruction of the Lord.
  • Preparation of the way of the Lord II

Yesterday we started talking about God’s desire to demonstrate His glory and fullness in our lives; for this to happen we have to prepare our hearts and to prepare the way of the Lord. We have to cleanse our hearts from the things that God hates and cannot look upon. The following verses from the Scripture reveal the principle of preparation the way of the Lord.«In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!” For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the LORD; make His paths straight.’”» (Mathew, 3:1-3).
  • Cooperation with God

When we continually pray and worship God, then our main desire is doing the will of God. Many prayers remain unanswered by God, because these prayers have a wrong foundation and demonstrate wrong priorities. For example, you may pray for a person with some serious problems. And you ask God to remove his or her problems or to solve them. At the same time you know that even if the answer to this prayer comes, the problems might return, since the cause of them has not been removed. That is why when Paul prayed he always asked for the people to learn the will of God and have a desire to do His will and be fruitful.
