Confession of our sins before God

Peace to you, dear children of God!Thank God for the day He has given us. Thank God for the opportunity to abide in His Word, fellowship with Him and draw from His power, strength and wisdom. We are still talking about the model of prayer Jesus left us. We saw that effective prayer includes such elements as worship and thanksgiving, cooperation with God and petition.Confession of our sins before God is another element of effective prayer. I call this element „a step towards inner healing”. God cleanses and heals us from inside out. And one of the most important elements leading to the inner healing is confession of our sins before God and forgiving of other people’s transgressions.
«And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors» (Mathew, 6:12).
When we come to God in prayer, we must confess our sins and ask Him to heal us. Such a prayer brings healing and deep inner cleansing.
«If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness» (1 John, 1:9).
After confession God not only forgives us, but also cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Sin is poisonous and destroys person’s life. Every time a person sins something dies in him – whether he believes it or not. Sometimes it is person’s consciousness that dies within him. God’s Word says that wages of sin is death. But every time when someone deliberately comes to God and confesses his sins, something comes alive in him. The more you come into God’s presence, the more you are filled with His life. We confess to God all the things the Holy Spirit convicts us of and ask God to forgive us.We can also ask forgiveness for other people that have hurt us and have something against us.
«Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled» (Hebrews, 12:15).
Unforgiveness is the bitter root that makes us fall short of the grace of God. The Bible says that God forgives you if you forgive your offenders.
«And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses» (Mark, 11:25-26).
Many problems and unanswered prayers occur because of lack of forgiveness. Some people think that the main thing is to have relationships with God and the rest is not as important. It is not so. It is impossible to live on this earth and not interact with people. Therefore, by giving and receiving forgiveness we build relationships with one another and that helps us get healed not just spiritually, but also physically.Let’s not block God’s grace and the blessings He has prepared for us through our unforgiveness.I wish abundant God’s blessings on this day!He is good – always!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • The power of compassion

Today I would like to talk about the power of compassion. If we look at the life of Jesus as the image of God – and that is Who Jesus is, – we will see that Jesus was motivated by compassion. When we are moved by compassion, we can’t be idle and barren. Our world is full of problems and God is calling us to work to solve them. We are His representatives on the earth. We are the Body of Christ on earth, so anything that God wants to do here He does through us.Looking at the life of Jesus we see that He never was idle. Every time when He wanted to be alone and relax after long hours of ministry, people would find Him and ask for help. And He never rejected anybody. Many times we read in the Bible: «He had compassion and ministered to them». He went from town to town, because He was anointed to bring solutions where problems were.
  • Worthy Goal for Life II

Yesterday we started talking about our goals. Everyone has them. We discussed that there are worthy and less worthy goals. We also saw that after meeting Christ, Paul devoted his life to Him; earnest expectation of Christ to be glorified in his body and through his life became his main goal in life. It is very important to ascertain for ourselves what our goals are.You and I have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we have peace with God. But it is just the beginning. Having been reconciled with God is just the beginning of the Christian walk. What awaits us afterwards? Through faith we gain Access to God’s grace and we expect the glory of God to be progressively revealed in us and through us.
  • Purpose for living

Many people ask themselves a question of why they feel inner emptiness. So many continue to walk the wrong way in their lives, and it goes on day after day. They feel their life to be aimless and they continue their walk unmotivated.Multitudes of people do not have a clue of why they live and whether the life is worth living. All of these things happen because they do not have a clear purpose for living.
  • Life is a trust

You should understand there is nothing that belongs to you. Your life itself is not yours, it’s a trust God has shown to you. Understanding this truth changes the way you respond to what is going on around you.You do not live for yourself; you did not appear on this Earth by your own act of will or for your own personal purpose. God has given life to you as a sign of His trust for you. You are entrusted with life from God and the day will come when you will have to give account to God for the life He given to you, – for all your deeds and words while living in your body.
  • Listening to what God is saying is extremely important to every believer

15 times in the New Testament Jesus repeats the expression «He who has ears to hear, let him hear» (see Matthew 11:15; 13:9,43; Mark 4:9, 23; 7:16; Luke 8:18; 14:35; Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6,13,22; 13:9).The Philip’s translation of the Bible states it the following way: “The man who has ears to hear must use them”.
  • The Bible calls us to ALWAYS PRAY AND NOT LOSE HEART

The whole world lies in wickedness and darkness, but, looking at the people that have made prayer their priority #1, you realize that – so to speak – they are from another planet; they do not live in darkness because they seem shining. They have problems and their life is not any different, but they approach their problems in a different way and they look forward into the future in a different way. Prayer so alters their lives and strengthens their relationships with God that they do not notice things that others do.
