I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me!

Welcome, precious children of God, to our column «Daily word for spiritual strength»! I pray, so that God´s mercy fills your life today.Yesterday we defined two kinds of wisdom, wisdom of a man and wisdom of God. God´s wisdom is much higher that the wisdom of a man. God´s wisdom is for our glory, so God is willing to share His wisdom when we are thirsty for it. God through His Holy Spirit is ready to reveal the mysteries of our life to us if we seek and search for Him.
«…For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God, except God’s Spirit. But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.» (1 Corinthians 2:11-12).
According to the word of God we are already granted everything we need in order to succeed in this life. God has already given us all that we need to have life abundantly. There is no such need in our life God has not taken care for yet. We only have to get to know God and His precious promises, so that we can prevail the lust of this world and fulfil our call from God.
«Seeing that his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue; by which he has granted to us his precious and exceedingly great promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust.». (2 Peter 1:3-4).
 So God tells us today:
«Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great things, and difficult, which you don’t know.» (Jeremiah 33:3).
«…difficult, that you don´t know» – is something you will never achieve without the Creator. But, together with Him you can manage everything.Jesus said we can´t do anything without Father.
”Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5).
God created you for the purpose, as He already mentioned it in His word.
«The people which I formed for myself, that they might set forth my praise.» (Isaiah 43:21).
The seeds of truth will grow up in your heart as you read the Scripture and enjoy fellowship with God. By virtue of the Holy Spirit working inside you´ll understand the revelation about the purpose and meaning of your life as well as the way of how to fulfil that revelation.Discard any thoughts about what you could achieve in your life without God. It will never be fulfilled because you are created for Him. You are created to enjoy fellowship with God and represent Him to this world. When sin entered this world separating us from God, it destroyed the communication between us and the Almighty One, later God recreated us in Christ. Thus, God re-established the link between Himself and the human kind when Christ as a living sacrifice died on the cross. Therefore, your destiny, your purpose in this life, your happiness and meaning of life are only found in God, only in Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ alone is the way, the truth and the life. Any independence of human from God is a step into ravine. Though, if we stay in God, in His word and in the fellowship with Him, He dwells in us and with us, then we can safely affirm: «I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me!»Lord bless you abundantly!Rufus Adjiboje, pastor

  • Prayer is our spiritual breathing

Ask God for grace to arrange your life for effective praying. Be honest with yourself today. Is your prayer life effective, or it has turned into fruitless routine? Maybe your really do not have any prayer relationships with God? You alone can answer these questions. We often talk of prayer; we hear of prayer. It makes us think that we know what prayer is. But do we practise praying? We know that prayer is necessary for our spiritual life, just like air is necessary for our physical life. We must be enough diligent and disciplined to pray.
  • In order for us to be the salt for the earth and the light of the world, we must demonstrate particular qualities

«Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you»
  • The Kingdom of God II

It is impossible to establish God’s Kingdom in our hearts, our lives, our families and all the spheres of our influence without putting forth particular effort. In order for God’s Kingdom to grow we will need to fight and to engage in warfare. So if you have made a decision to have part in expansion of God’s Kingdom in this earth, you can not be a passive observer. Only active people that have taken a position of overcomers in Christ are able to establish the Kingdom in their lives and around them.
  • Faith is obedience to the Lord! II

«Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.» (Hebrew 11:6). As we mentioned earlier, faith means acting in accordance to the word of God. Quite often God calls us to do impossible things, those only God Himself can accomplish. God is not inviting us to demonstrate our own capabilities, but what He is able to do through us. That´s why God often gives us the tasks we cannot accomplish without Him.
  • The power of compassion

Today I would like to talk about the power of compassion. If we look at the life of Jesus as the image of God – and that is Who Jesus is, – we will see that Jesus was motivated by compassion. When we are moved by compassion, we can’t be idle and barren. Our world is full of problems and God is calling us to work to solve them. We are His representatives on the earth. We are the Body of Christ on earth, so anything that God wants to do here He does through us.Looking at the life of Jesus we see that He never was idle. Every time when He wanted to be alone and relax after long hours of ministry, people would find Him and ask for help. And He never rejected anybody. Many times we read in the Bible: «He had compassion and ministered to them». He went from town to town, because He was anointed to bring solutions where problems were.
