Love is a weapon of victory of the last time III

Peace on you dear readers of our column “Daily word for spiritual strength”! Today we continue our discussion “God´s weapons for the victory in the last days”. Yesterday we talked about love´s commandments Jesus set for His disciples. Those commandments contain protection for all those who want to live their life in victory in Christ.
«Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honourable in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink. For in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.” Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.» (Romans 12:17-21).
These verses of the Scripture tell us not to repay evil for evil nor revenge for ourselves. God wants us to leave the right to revenge for Him. This is one of the principles of how to walk in love. God also instructs us on how to treat our enemy – feed him if he is hungry, give him a drink if he is thirsty. This is the only way how we can overcome evil by good. Love is a weapon for the victory over evil, and you know that evil will multiply at the last days. The Bible says:
«Because iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.» (Matthew 24:12).
God wants so that we do not grow cold. Jesus is our example of how to walk in love.
«For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps, who did not sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.” Who, when he was cursed, didn’t curse back. When he suffered, didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.» (1 Peter 2:21-23).
The principle of love protects our hearts, emotions and our life from injuries and bruises. Hatred, evil, betrayal, cruelty and lack of understanding among people will multiply at the last days. Jesus never sinned, while people back-bit Him anyway. But, how Jesus reacted to that back-biting? He never replied with back-biting, never tried to overcome evil with evil. He knew it would not work this way, quite opposite it would have increased the amount of evil, pain, emotional injuries and hatred in the life of a person who tries to overcome evil with evil. Jesus suffered of people´s deeds, He felt pain, though He didn´t threaten them, instead He handed everything over to the Father´s hands, who judges righteously. So, what helped Jesus to walk in love? He was able to trust God, so Paul was, since he had understood this principle, as he says in his letter to Romans:
«Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”.» (Romans 12:19).
At these last days God wants us to understand that revenge belongs to God not to us. Do not revenge, neither threaten nor curse your enemies, rather overcome evil with good – love those who hurt you, bless those who curse you, feed and bless your enemies. All these things represent a powerful weapon which will help you to celebrate victory at the last days.I pray to God so He helps each of us to see and understand this thing. I wish you reason on this truth once again, so it becomes your revelation and way of life. It´s walk in love, indeed, that will bring victory into your life at these last days.See you tomorrow!Be blessed! Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

  • If you desire to experience God´s power and His mercy in your life, make fellowship and love to God priorities for your life!

Yesterday we spoke about how we can experience God´s power and mercy in our life. It fully depends on how deep we dedicate ourselves to Him. Once we realise we are not living for ourselves but for One who died for us, we discover the source of the unlimited power and mercy of God.However, submission to God doesn´t mean doing everything that comes to your mind. Contrariwise, it makes us responsible for getting to know what God bears in His heart regarding His will to our life. For this reason you have to submit yourself in whole to the Lord in order to have fellowship with Him as a source of inspiration, freshness and guidance. Everybody who experienced His power in his life and became a tool of His mercy constantly submitted himself to the Lord.
  • What is the highest commandment?

Once a man asked Jesus: «What is the highest commandment»? Jesus answered that the 1st commandment is to love God; the second – love you neighbour as yourself! When you are moved with compassion and love for people, you do not waste your time on your faults and failures. Your faults shouldn’t stop your ministry. Many people think that they are not ready to serve and minister. But if you have any compassion, you will go and minister to people despite our weaknesses. And we will be saving people.
  • Preparation is a key to effective life

In reality, effective life is impossible without appropriate preparation. Jesus solved the question of effectiveness by preparing Himself for the ministry. There is almost no information about what Jesus had been doing during the first 30 years of His life. Gospels tell us the story about His ministry. Meanwhile, we need to understand that prior to starting His ministry Jesus had been seriously preparing himself for quite a long time.
  • Prayer is petitioning God and receiving from Him

«Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened» (Mathew, 7:7-8).This passage of Scripture reveals three levels of praying. I really want you to see it. There are quite many places in the Bible where God has made known to us His desires and His will and promises. We can ask in prayer when the will of God has been revealed and made known.
  • Constant fellowship with God

Having constant fellowship with God we begin to see ourselves as God´s chosen ones, holy and beloved. Each of us is unique and some can see it and believe it, however, not everybody has revealed it for himself. If you look at yourself as at the God´s chosen one, you life will easily reflect a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance. In addition you will notice how these qualities reflect in your inner world and your relationships with God and other people as well.
  • Grateful people – they are people able for self-sacrifice!

What is our response like today? How do we express our gratitude to God for the fact that we live, that He protects us, that He has saved us, that we breathe, walk, and we have families and children? What God is doing for us today – does it help us be more open, sacrifice more and become better worshippers?
