Petition

Greetings to you, dear readers, on this wonderful day! Every day God makes all things anew, and His mercies have been renewed for us this morning! We are still reviewing elements of effective prayer. We have established that effective prayer includes worship and thanksgiving, as well as cooperation with God. We also discussed the things we can pray for. Today let’s look at other parts of effective prayer. The next element of effective prayer is request or petition. We can pray for our needs.
«Give us this day our daily bread» (Mathew, 6:11).
Everything that bothers us can be brought to God in prayer.
«Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus» (Philippians, 4:6-7).
We also can pray for other people.
«..pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much» (James, 5:16).
Also we can ask God for wisdom.
«If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him» (James, 1:5).
Unfortunately, not all people are willing admit that they lack wisdom. We can pray for prosperity as well. It is good and right, on a condition that you bring God your tithe and offerings. Ask God to bless your giving and reward you according to His Word.
«Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, „if I will not open for you the Windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it» (Malachi, 3:16).
Pray for God to bless the work of your hands and give you opportunity to help other people. If you have a lot of money, then help other people, because God has blessed you with money not just for meeting your own needs, but also to meet the needs of others.
«Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers» (3 John, 2).
This is an example of prayer you can pray.Till tomorrow!May God abundantly bless every one of you today!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Lust brings sin, and sin brings death III

Love destroys the power of lust; where there is love, wounds are healed and prosperity comes. Love is the nature of God and when we become partakers of His essence we escape from corruption that rules in this world.«..as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust» (2 Peter, 1: 3-4)
  • The law of multiplication II

“Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy. He continually goes forth weeping, bearing seed for sowing, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing sheaves with him” (Psalm 126:5-6). This Scripture confirms that the one who sows and labours – even if it takes tears – will doubtlessly reap with joy. If we use our God given seed correctly, which means if we sow the seed even with tears then God promises us abundant harvest and lots of joy. All these parables of Jesus tell us of the kingdom of God.
  • The power of compassion

Today I would like to talk about the power of compassion. If we look at the life of Jesus as the image of God – and that is Who Jesus is, – we will see that Jesus was motivated by compassion. When we are moved by compassion, we can’t be idle and barren. Our world is full of problems and God is calling us to work to solve them. We are His representatives on the earth. We are the Body of Christ on earth, so anything that God wants to do here He does through us.Looking at the life of Jesus we see that He never was idle. Every time when He wanted to be alone and relax after long hours of ministry, people would find Him and ask for help. And He never rejected anybody. Many times we read in the Bible: «He had compassion and ministered to them». He went from town to town, because He was anointed to bring solutions where problems were.
  • What causes tragedies in our lives at all?

Many people ask me: «If God is good, why does He allow so many tears, tragedies and sorrow in this world? If it´s not His merit then where does all the evil come from? Where does a tragedy come from? What is its source?» Honest and apparently innocent people that suffer want to know why and what are they suffering for. Consecrated, true believers that seek God with all their heart, and also suffer want to know why such things happen in their lives. People of all generations have asked these questions.
  • What fruit does God want to see in our lives?

The souls of the people that have repented and come back to God. Every person that has come back to God is like a fruit. Every repented soul is the product of someone’s fruit that before God. God wants to see as many people as possible meeting Jesus and making Him the Lord of their lives through you. When we help people to meet Jesus and accept His lordship, we bear fruit that glorify God.
  • How God chastises and disciplines His children

    1. God uses His Word, the Bible to discipline us.Do you have some separate time to read and personally study God’s Word? Do you study the Word together with other believers? Do you listen regularly to the preaching of the Word? All these issues are very important, since it is the Holy Scripture that God uses to speak to us. Through the Word God corrects us and gives us important instruction concerning the way we should live. God sees and know how we live. God knows all of our hidden desires and thoughts, and He wants to correct us through His Word.
