The Bible calls us to ALWAYS PRAY AND NOT LOSE HEART

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!I am truly anxious to persuade you of the power and importance of prayer in the life of believers, of the wonderful changes that come into a person’s life when he or she makes prayer the main priority. That is why we will continue talking about how to organize effective prayer life.We will attempt to answer the following questions: What? Why? When? Where? How? We will try to find answers to every one of these questions concerning prayer.I know that you have heard so much about prayer since you got saved. People have prayed in all times. It is no secret that pagans pray, Muslims pray, Buddhists pray, even atheists pray once in a while. Everyone prays! People pray in different situation and at different times. Many people know about prayer and its importance; nevertheless prayer has not become their number 1 priority. I want to say that the people that have given prayer the first place in their life shine in this dark world.
“We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one” (1 John, 5:19)
“For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you” (Isaiah, 60:2).
The whole world lies in wickedness and darkness, but, looking at the people that have made prayer their priority #1, you realize that – so to speak – they are from another planet; they do not live in darkness because they seem shining. They have problems and their life is not any different, but they approach their problems in a different way and they look forward into the future in a different way. Prayer so alters their lives and strengthens their relationships with God that they do not notice things that others do. Have you ever met such a person? They talk in a different manner. We hear complaints and grumbling all around us, but the people that have made prayer their #1 priority do not participate in that. They usually say: «Praise God! Everything is going to be alright! Praise God! There is a way out of this situation! We will overcome! » So these people think differently. It is the result of effective prayer life.Unfortunately, many people pray only when it is convenient, even thought they understand what prayer is. I want us to see that we cannot pray only when it is convenient for us; we must also pray when it is not convenient, because prayer is a vital part of Christian living. Many people pray only when they have serious problems, crisis or some difficulties. Have you heard about people that on the verge of dying? What are their prayers like at those life-threatening moments? They are extremely fervent!I once read a story about a plane crash. The plane was close to landing when suddenly the pilot realized that landing gear works only on one side; the landing without landing gear could cause an explosion. The pilots were forced to perform emergency landing. They had to stay up in the air until fuel ended, or the explosion would have been inevitable. The passengers that had never prayed before were crying out: „Save us, Lord!” Because of their fervent prayer, the plane landed safely and there were no injuries. Who can say after this that atheists do not pray? They do pray! Many people wait till there is no other way out. They only pray when the only option left for them is to cry out to God: «Lord, help me! » But God wants the situation to be different; the Bible calls us to ALWAYS PRAY AND NOT LOSE HEART.
«The He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart» (Luke, 18:1).
God bless you!Until tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

«Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested him, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the law? How do you read it?” He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.”
  • Don’t serve those things over which you, suppose to dominate according to the will of God

“ And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath”In this short statement of Jesus Christ there a very important lesson is hidden for us. God is saying here that the sabbath was made for manand not man for the sabbath. In life it is often possible to observe such a picture where by those things over which man is meant to dominate, are dominating over him instead. This distortion of the order established by God often result in many tragic problems in people’s life today.
  • Love means having fellowship and spending time together!

We have been created fro love and fellowship with God. More than anything He wants us to love Him with all the whole essence. God initiated our relationships with Him. First of all, God sent Jesus to suffer, so we could restore the fellowship with Him. Now, when it´s already happened, the relationships with God have to become personal and intimate. If there is no order in our relationships with God, our whole life will be a chaos, so everything in it will be set the wrong way. Consequently, fellowship with God softens your heart making it sensitive, so that you learn to hear to and collaborate with God. God is still speaking to His people in many different ways. All those who have experienced God and His mercy in their life knew how to listen and recognise His voice.
  • The chief hindrances that block God’s power from working for us

Jesus sometimes connects sickness with sins. This is not always the true for every sickness or situation (John 9:1-3), but very often our problems are connected to some unconfessed sins in our lives.“And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee” (Matthew 9:1-8).
  • You cannot multiply what you do not sow

We are still talking about necessity to use the gifts that have been given to us by the Lord. Jesus wants every person to be faithful in little things and then God will place such a person over greater things. God presents everyone with opportunities to start serving Him and bringing forth fruit for God’s Kingdom. You cannot multiply what you do not sow.In the Gospel of Mathew Jesus told a parable about Master giving his servants different talents.
  • The lordship of Jesus Christ III

God reigns on the earth and in heaven. When we talk about the lordship of Jesus, we mean that His rule covers everything and everybody. We have already mentioned that God has shared His rule with the mankind, having entrusted people with authority and dominion on the earth. Adam and Eve were given authority to rule on the earth, because God Himself wanted that.
