The factors upon which a man’s breakthrough in life depends

Lovely brothers and sisters, I welcome you again to our column «The Daily word for spiritual strength». We have been talking for sometimes now on the topic of breakthrough. We already established before that breakthrough is the destruction of all barriers (satanic or human), limiting us in life. We also said that breakthrough changes the status of the person experiencing it in life. Today I would like us to start focusing on the factors upon which our breakthrough in life depends.Let’s read once again the story of our hero.
“Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.  And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.  And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.  And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.  Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.   And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.  And all the people saw him walking and praising God:   And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him” (Acts.3: 1-10).
I will begin by asking one important question which that should help us to discover the factors upon which a man’s breakthrough in life depends. And this is the question: Why is it that the breakthrough of our hero took forty years to manifest, since God so eagerly desired to give him a miraculous touch? What prevented him from receiving the breakthrough earlier? The answer to this question will open our eyes to see why many people do not experience breakthrough in the life today.Let’s consider some of the reasons.
  • Getting accustomed to the situation.
Very often people get used to their situations and will not try to do anything to change their state of being. This lame guy got used to sitting on the same spot for 40 years and probably did not believe in any change any more.I read this story about one dog that has been tied to a pillar. Each time the dog tried to run, she felt the restriction. After several attempts the dog got used to its position. And even after this dog was untied, it still continued to move around only within the habitual radius. Here is one more story which illustrates this same point: in one big aquarium two fishes were placed, one of them was predatory, and the other was not. Between the fishes a barrier of transparent glass was placed as a demarcation line so that the predatory fish will not eat up the other fish. Each time when the predatory fish tried to swallow the second fish, it only hit the transparent glass barrier, and then turns back at once in the opposite direction. After several such attempts, it automatically turns back, as soon as it reaches the place where the barrier was fixed. This continued even after the barrier was removed.Let’s now turn to the story of another lame man described in the Gospel of John:
“Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.   In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.   For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.  And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?   The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.  Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.  And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the Sabbath” (John 5: 2-9).
This sick person too has almost surrendered after several unsuccessful attempts. All the time he has being waiting for someone who could help, but all was in vain until Jesus got to the spot. Whenever Jesus comes into your situation everything changes to the best possible way. Do not get used to your situations. Call on Jesus, and He will help. Do not put your trust or hope in people, but rely on the Lord. He is your Helper. May help find you today in Jesus Name!If you need breakthrough then don’t agree with that which is not your destiny in the Lord. Be like Jabez who though was born with illness, refused to be identified with such a destiny. He prayed and called upon God for help because he did not want to get use to his illness. As a result of his efforts God did not only healed him, but Jabez became more honourable than his brethren who were born healthy.
“And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested”   (1 Chronicles 4: 9-10).
Dear friends, the word from God for you today is this: do not get use your to a tragedy and misfortune in life, rather resist them! It is high time for you to look at the situation with the eyes of God. May the Lord bless you this day! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Ministry changes a selfish person into a loving, compassionate servant of the Lord

It is not a secret that we are all born selfish. Someone might argue and say that does not apply to him or that he is not selfish. If you say that then you are lying! We are all selfish, except the transforming grace of God!What does it mean to be selfish?· A selfish person is one who lives only for himself. He only cares about his world and does not notice what is happening to others around him. A selfish person is only concerned about his life and his comforts.
  • How to set grace free in our lives? II

The law of sowing and reaping governs how favour works. It is necessary to look at favour as a seed that must be sown. Jesus said that, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (Matthew 5:7).In other words, Jesus is saying, “Blessed are those who have sown favour or mercy, because they will reap favour or mercy”.Generally, the level of favour operating in your life depends on the level of the seed of favour you sow into other people’s lives. This means that I cannot expect the harvest of favour in my life until I have not sown mercy into other people’s lives.
  • We must prepare the way so that the Lord could come in glory and fullness!

God has a way. He does not force Himself on people; He is the God of order. Until there will be a way prepared for God, He won’t come. Many of us would like for God to come, but He does not come without proper preparation. God goes where people are ready for His visitation. And when God comes, then all barriers are cast aside, the desert starts blooming, the mountains and hills are brought down, the valleys will be filled, the crooked places are made straight and the rough places are made smooth. God can show us the great picture of what He wants to do among us and through us as His people or the Church. But it will take a serious preparation and it will require of us to be very responsible.
  • What we sow is what we reap

But it is also important to note that we reap a lot more than we sow. Without sowing we don’t reap at all. If you want to become great and bring fruit in the kingdom of God, if you desire for your life to have godly influence over other people, then you have to sow your life into others. There are no short cuts to greatness and true influence. It would be foolish to expect greatness, multiplication and fruitfulness without sowing. That would be deception!
  • We are the new creation in Christ Jesus, made for good deeds the Lord has determined for us

«For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works …» (Ephesians 2:10).God has created you with a purpose. We are created and made for ministry on this Earth. Life without purpose is similar to a movement without a direction. Once we clarify who we are in God and what He has done for us – we immediately realise why we are here in this world. So we are made for good works.
  • What are you doing with your talent? II

The world is changing very rapidly. I am convinced that new changes will come into our lives with an increasing speed. If I told you about different predictions and ideas that experts have about our future, then the hearts of many people would be filled with fear. One pastor spoke to me about it and I saw his heart getting filled with fear after hearing all the predictions. He asked me what to do with all of it; is it worth making big plans if all these terrible things are inevitably coming upon the earth? I told him that – thank God – we have the Bible that contains all the answers.
