Value God’s Word!

I greet you, dear friends, and welcome you to our „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”.Today I would like to talk about the importance of God’s Word in our lives. And I would like to draw your attention to a passage from the Book of Deuteronomy (32:45-47):
«Set your hearts on all the words which I testify among you today, which you shall command your children to be careful to observe – all the words of this law. For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life, and by this word you shall prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to possess.»
I want to remind you that this was one of the last things Moses said before his death. Moses brought the people of Israel out of Egypt, then they wandered through the desert and now they were about to cross the Jordan in order to possess the land God had promised them. Earlier on, Moses had given the nation of Israel a serious instruction; he reminded them of the law, the conditions of the covenant and everything that God had spoken to them about. And in these verses we see that Moses tried hard to let people understand how vitally important it is to accept the Word of God with all soberness and deep respect.Today God wants to tell us the same thing. The Word of God is life to us. When God sends us His Word, He offers us life. Rejecting the Word of God we reject life itself. Moses says about God’s Word: «For it is not a futile thing for you, because it is your life…»It is extremely important for us to appreciate the Word of God and not to treat it as something futile, – it is not like a song that we have listened to and then gone to do our own will. It should be to us like the greatest treasure. We have to value God’s Word, to hide it in our hearts, to appreciate it because it is life to us. God says that through the Word and through our right attitude towards it we can extend or prolong our days. Our attitude toward the Word determines whether we will extend our life or shorten it.The Bible has a lot to say about things that prolong our life. For example, it says that honoring one’s parents is a commandment with promise, – so that we live a long life on this earth. Secondly, the way we treat God’s Word can extend our life. By the way, the commandment to honor parents is written in the Word, and our attitude towards it determines the length of our days and the quality of them.
“Honor your father and your mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth” (Ephesians, 6:2-3).
So, a person’s attitude towards the Word decides whether he will live an abundant, long life and whether he will obtain the promises God has for him.The word of God for you today is: value God’s Word! Let the Word never be futile for you, let it never become just an ordinary word to you; let it be for you the greatest treasure.Be blessed! Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

  • You are the epistle of Christ through which His salvation can spread through the whole world!

Paul is saying that many people hear the Gospel but still are not enlightened by that. These people had made their choice to continue living in sin, therefore, satan, the god of this world had blinded their minds so that the light of Gospel remains unveiled to them, regardless of how hard somebody tries to share the gospel with them. Nevertheless, Paul and his partners presented to others the brightest light of the Gospel, – that is Christ Himself, who is the image of God. Paul was convinced that people should be able to see God in Christ, so he preached Christ and instead of preaching about himself.
  • How can we face any opposition and problem with our faces shining at the same time?

The Scripture mentioned above teaches that it is necessary for us to look unto God by entering into His presence and learn to draw strength and wisdom from Him. Let us look at the life of Moses. Moses’ face was shined when he descended from the mountain where he spent time conversing with God. This is what Psalms 34:5 is talking about. Those who looked unto God and met with Him were definitely enlightened. Such people will never be disgraced.
  • Temptations or trials are a kind of test or exam

If you arm yourself with the knowledge that problems and trials are a test to all of us, and once it´s passed we receive a certain reward from God, then a holy desire to win given by God will be awaken within you. None of you is born willing to be a loser in this life. We all desire to win, but no win where is no battle. For the problems and trials are those battles we either get defeated or celebrate the victory at. Going through hardships and pain in our life, we better understand the price, Jesus paid for our salvation. «…you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings…».
  • How Prophet Elisha accomplished his goal in life

Elijah was the spiritual father of Elisha. After Elisha closely observed the life of this man of God in his life and saw all the miracles that God performed through Elijah, he understood that the key to Elijah’s success was his love and total commitment to God. So Elisha desired and became hungry for the same anointing and lifestyle of Elijah his mentor. But more interestingly is the fact that Elisha wasn’t satisfied to do just what Elijah did; he craved for the double portion of Elijah’s his anointing.
  • The Kingdom of God II

It is impossible to establish God’s Kingdom in our hearts, our lives, our families and all the spheres of our influence without putting forth particular effort. In order for God’s Kingdom to grow we will need to fight and to engage in warfare. So if you have made a decision to have part in expansion of God’s Kingdom in this earth, you can not be a passive observer. Only active people that have taken a position of overcomers in Christ are able to establish the Kingdom in their lives and around them.
