What is favour? II

I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! It is so wonderful that God has given us a full manual for wholesome living. The Bible is full of principles and instructions for a happy life on the earth, and – most importantly – it gives us a guarantee of eternal life. Every wise person not only reads the Bible, but also uses its principles in their daily walk. We have started talking about the power of favour. Yesterday we defined the meaning of the word „favour” as ‘secret desire of another person to take part in your life and help you to be ‘the best you’’. Today we will look at why gaining favour is so important for securing success in life. Let’s look at the Scripture:
«So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy» (Romans, 9: 16).
Based on this verse of Scripture, we can make the following conclusions:
  • It is not important how fast you will run or how hard you will work; unless God blesses you, your efforts will be futile and bring you no success.
  • Blessing is the secret of obvious success in the Kingdom of God or someone’s personal life.
  • Favour guarantees great achievements in your life. It makes your enemies helpless and opens for you a door to your success.
Would you like to make sure your work is not futile? Would you like to have outstanding success in your life and reach the heights God has set for you? Would you like to see your enemies helpless and losing the battle? Then you desperately need the favour of God.I am praying for the favour of God to be multiplied in your life.Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

If you had a polluted garment on even a brand new garment, what would you feel like? I am sure you would feel disgusted. This is exactly what those who try to please God through their good works without Christ feel. It doesn´t matter how many good works you do, God would never accept you unless you accept Jesus by faith. God´s peace enters your heart because you get to know Jesus and realise that in Him you are saved and accepted by God.
  • Suffering as a method of discipline II

My responsibility is to live a worthy life and to walk in obedience before the Lord. If I become disobedient, then according to the Bible my Heavenly Father corrects and disciplines me. To discipline is to correct for moral perfection. That is why the Bible says:«As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent» (Revelation, 3:19).
  • The counselling III

One of the ways we make ourselves qualified is to learn to listen to people, listen to their hearts and feelings; only then we can really help them.Besides, we must be ready to show the problem from a different perspective. It is not satisfactory to point out person’s problem or his or her mistakes; we must be able to highlight how his or her present lifestyle or approach to life has caused the problem.Today I would like us to look at another passage of Scripture.
  • Apart from Him there is no true satisfaction and happiness!

«There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death» (Proverbs, 16:25). A wise man learns from the mistakes of others. I believe that this message will help us stop and not take the wrong path, since it won’t give us any fulfilment.Yesterday we discussed the fact that Solomon tried to find happiness and satisfaction in pleasures of life. He realized that all these things are vanity and „grasping for the wind”. We saw the things Solomon sought as the source of enjoyment. First, he tried different delicacies. They brought satisfaction to Solomon’s body, but he soul remained empty and hungry.
  • What causes tragedies in our lives at all?

Many people ask me: «If God is good, why does He allow so many tears, tragedies and sorrow in this world? If it´s not His merit then where does all the evil come from? Where does a tragedy come from? What is its source?» Honest and apparently innocent people that suffer want to know why and what are they suffering for. Consecrated, true believers that seek God with all their heart, and also suffer want to know why such things happen in their lives. People of all generations have asked these questions.
