Not only prayer helps us enter God’s presence, it is a source for godly revelations II

Welcome to our „Daily Word for Spiritual Strength” column!

Today, I would like to continue developing the topic we started yesterday – prayers as the source of godly revelation.

We were saying that through prayers Moses received revelations from God.

Jesus also said that He speaks only what He has heard from the Father and He does what He has seen His Father doing. Jesus heard and saw the Father, and afterwards He repeated what He has heard and seen. Here the secret of the wonderful ministry of Jesus is hidden.

“Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. Yes, to your amazement He will show Him even greater things than these. By Myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and My judgment is just, for I seek not to please Myself but Him who sent Me.” (John 5:19-20,30)

You see what Jesus said, „For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does.”

God loves us the way He loves the Son, therefore God wants to show us what He does. Jesus speaks about that in the Scripture:

„…to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.” (John 17:23 b)

Jesus said that He received the word and message from the Father. How did He manage this? Thanks to His prayers! Jesus drew near to God in prayer and God approached Him. The result of fellowship between Jesus and the Father was the fact that God gave Jesus the word and message. God revealed to Jesus what needed to be done, as well as when and with what to do it. As a result, Jesus always did miracles.

Here´s where the secret of success of Jesus was hidden! Here´s where Moses´ success lay! Here´s where God is hiding the key to success for all the men and women during all the history of the Church.

Prior to choosing His disciples, Jesus spent all the night in prayers.

„One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles.” (Luke 6:12-13)

Often in early mornings, Jesus went to a deserted place to pray.

“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” (Mark 1:35)

In his prophesy about Jesus, Isaiah asserted that the secret of His success and the source of His strength and courage is in His fellowship with the Father.

“The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back. I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting. Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. He who vindicates me is near. Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me! It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me. Who is he that will condemn me? They will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up. Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.“ (Isaiah 50:4-10)

Jesus heard God. He could strengthen the weary with the word, because He regularly had contact with God and knew how things needed to be done.

Dear friend, if you are ready to pay the price – by regular solitude with God, as Moses, Jesus and all of His disciples did – have no doubt that God will direct all of your steps and will guide you on the right path in all things.

Abundant blessings from God!

Till tomorrow!

  • What are you doing with your promotion?

Promotion is connected to the issue of wealth, and we are not talking just about money. Riches are more than money. Health, joy, good relationships, peace, rest, and love – those too are riches. Many people have lots of money, but they lack true riches. God tells us today not to be haughty and not trust in material things; we need to trust God alone. We should be generous and sociable. When problems come, God is the only One Who can help us. Trust God and do good works. By doing this, you will draw God’s attention and earn God’s promotion.

  • Calling forth convincing and irrefutable proof! II

“The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles”(Psalm 34:17). God hears you when you cry out to Him and not when you sink in our despair and misery, when you grumble and ‘have pity parties’. There is a cry of faith, which God always hears, because He finds a call for help and intervention in it. In this prayer cry God sees faith in Righteous, Just, Loving and Almighty God.

  • The seed contains tremendous potential

Our attitude towards God’s Word is very important. God sends His Word into our lives so that His Word would bring to us that which we need. In order for the seed of God’s Word to grow in our hearts, the condition of our hearts is particularly important. «For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing which I sent it.» (Isaiah 55:10-11).
