Not only prayer helps us enter God’s presence, it is a source for godly revelations II

Welcome in our „Daily Word for Spiritual Strength” column!Today, I would like to continue developing the topic we started yesterday – prayers as the source of godly revelation. We were talking that through prayers Moses received revelations from God.Jesus also said that He speaks only what He has heard from the Father and He does what He has seen His Father doing. Jesus heard and saw the Father, and afterwards He repeated what He has heard and seen. Here the secret of the wonderful ministry of Jesus is hidden.
“Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does. Yes, to your amazement He will show Him even greater things than these. By Myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and My judgment is just, for I seek not to please Myself but Him who sent Me.” (John 5:19-20,30)
You see what Jesus said, „For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all He does.”God loves us the way He loves the Son, therefore God wants to show us what He does. Jesus speaks about that in the Scripture:
„…to let the world know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me.” (John 17:23 b)
Jesus said that He received the Word and message from the Father. How did He manage this? Thanks to His prayers! Jesus drew near to God in prayer and God approached Him. The result of fellowship between Jesus and the Father, was the fact that God gave Jesus the Word and message. God revealed to Jesus what needed to be done, as well as when and with what to do it. As a result, Jesus always did miracles. Here´s where the secret of success of Jesus was hidden! Here´s where Moses´ success lay! Here´s where God is hiding the key to success for all the men and women during all the history of the Church.Prior to choosing His disciples, Jesus spent all the night in prayers.
„One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them, whom he also designated apostles.” (Luke 6:12-13)
Often in early mornings, Jesus went to a deserted place to pray.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” (Mark 1:35)
In his prophesy about Jesus, Isaiah asserted that the secret of His success and the source of His strength and courage is in His fellowship with the Father.
“The Sovereign LORD has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. The Sovereign LORD has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back. I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting. Because the Sovereign LORD helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. He who vindicates me is near. Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me! It is the Sovereign LORD who helps me. Who is he that will condemn me? They will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up. Who among you fears the LORD and obeys the word of his servant? Let him who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the LORD and rely on his God.“ (Isaiah 50:4-10)
Jesus heard from God. He could strengthen the weary with the Word, because He regularly had a contact with God and knew how things needed to be done.Dear friend, if you are ready to pay the price – by regular solitude with God, as Moses, Jesus and all of His disciples did – have no doubt that God will direct all of your steps and will guide you on the right path in all things.Abundant blessings from God!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Walking in holiness, loving God and people will help us to change and transform into the likeness of Jesus Christ!

«But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law». (Galatians 5:22-23).These are the changes God wants to make in us. He doesn´t want us to be people with “big head” and with “small heart”. Neither it´s His intention to see us as those who only hold a form of godliness, but having denied the power thereof. Bible invites us to turn away from such people.
  • The evangelism and discipleship II

«Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street» (Lamentations, 2:19).This is not a routine call to ordinary prayer, but a call to cry out to God to send a revival and deliver our children and the next generation from inevitable disasters and tragedies. Every serious revival has started with people’s heartfelt cry directed to God.
  • We multiply our talents by using them and putting them to practise

We have to apply our gifts. We must find for ourselves a place in church, in God’s Kingdom. Your barrenness is nobody’s fault, but yours. Learn to apply your talents and do it well. Whatever you do, do it well to be called a good and faithful servant. The word „faithful” contains deep meaning. You can depend on a faithful servant; he is reliable; he never lets down.
  • Responsibility as a Key to Success!

Why is it important to be a responsible person? One of the reasons is that the level of authority and power is directly related to how responsible you are. Even if you seem to have authority with people, but you treat life lightly, it is highly probable that soon enough you will lose your standing with people. And it applies to all settings: whether it is church, family, business or individuals. Responsibility, success and authority – all these phenomena are closely related. You cannot be successful and irresponsible at the same time.
  • We have to be ready to go wherever God sends us to

As we concluded yesterday, we have to become obedient disciples, so that our families, our church and our towns can be stirred. God uses obedient disciples to fulfil His prophesies and restore His will on Earth. Even more, we have to be ready to go wherever God sends us to. Thus we can fulfil our calling. Obedience to call begins with obedience to short instructions God gives to us through His word and our leaders in Christ. It´s also important to know that Jesus knows everything, He possesses all hidden information, necessary for our mission. That´s why obedience to the Lord who knows everything is vitally important! When Jesus had a need for a donkey to ride upon to Jerusalem, He knew where to find the animal. He knew where to go and find that donkey. He knew how to bring that donkey to Him.
  • Faith is obedience to the Lord!

Are you willing to experience God and His power in your life? If so, trust God and express it via your obedience to Him. The Bible says that without faith you can´t please the Lord. If you don´t please God you cannot experience His presence nor power neither. When God reveals you something He is going to accomplish, you have to follow his invitation without hesitation. It proves your devotion and your desire to listen to His voice. Meanwhile, disobedience turns your heart to stone and shuts our ears to God´s voice. Faith is acting in accordance to the word of God. Quite often God calls us to do impossible things, those only God Himself can accomplish.
