What is the highest commandment?

What is the highest commandment?

Greetings to you, my friends! I am so grateful for this opportunity to share with you the pearls of God’s wisdom.

God told Joshua:

«This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success» (Joshua, 1:8).

Today we will continue to discuss the issue of compassion.

Once a man asked Jesus: «What is the highest commandment»? Jesus answered that the 1st commandment is to love God; the second – love you neighbour as yourself!

When you are moved with compassion and love for people, you do not waste your time on your faults and failures. Your faults shouldn’t stop your ministry. Many people think that they are not ready to serve and minister. But if you have any compassion, you will go and minister to people despite our weaknesses. And we will be saving people.

When we study the life of Jesus we see that He lived in compliance to a different law – a law of compassion. It often happens that the things we know become a hindrance in doing what God has called us to do. So pray for God to change your heart, to touch you and fill your heart with love and compassion.

You can look rather silly in the eyes of people, but if it saves people then it is good and right before God. We need to work hard to change; we have to gain God’s wisdom, knowledge and develop certain skills that we will need in order to save people. And while we are moving towards our goal, the lack of these skills shouldn’t stop us or be a hindrance in the ministry.

One of the areas where God wants to work through the Church today is for us to build relationships with people around us. You cannot help people to come to God if you do not have relationship with them. If we live within the walls of our churches, it is not important whether we pray, fast or praise God, people won’t get saved. Every one of us must use all our assets in order to help people to come to God.

«Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.” (..) And when he had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease»(Mathew, 9: 35-38; 10:1).

Jesus walked around and saw people. He taught, preached and healed people because He had compassion for them. Let’s learn from Him! The life of Jesus is elaborately described in the Scripture so that we could learn to follow Him. When we follow His example, we grow and become perfect in all things.

God bless you!

Many people ask themselves a question of why they feel inner emptiness. So many continue to walk the wrong way in their lives, and it goes on day after day. They feel their life to be aimless and they continue their walk unmotivated. Multitudes of people do not have a clue of why they live and whether the life is worth living. All of these things happen because they do not have a clear purpose for living. The lack of such a purpose often causes violence, different types of evil, disappointments, emptiness, despair, hopelessness, apathy, anger and so on.

“Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”According to the above passage, there is a process or protocol we need to follow if we want to see and experience the manifestations of God in our lives and in ministries. Now it is true that God is an omnipresence God. He is present everywhere at the same time. However, it is important to note that his presence is more real and felt in some places than anywhere else. What determines such a big difference? This is what I mean when I say we need to follow a protocol. Following the right protocol is what differentiates between the intensity of God’s manifest presence in our lives, home and churches.

“Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” (2 Tim.2:19)Practical righteousness is the solid foundation on which to build your Christian life and ensure that you receive God’s favour. If as a Christian you still continue to live in sin and make it part of your lifestyle, then you are eliminating yourself from God’s favour.

  • Worthy Goal for Life II

Yesterday we started talking about our goals. Everyone has them. We discussed that there are worthy and less worthy goals. We also saw that after meeting Christ, Paul devoted his life to Him; earnest expectation of Christ to be glorified in his body and through his life became his main goal in life. It is very important to ascertain for ourselves what our goals are.You and I have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ and we have peace with God. But it is just the beginning. Having been reconciled with God is just the beginning of the Christian walk. What awaits us afterwards? Through faith we gain Access to God’s grace and we expect the glory of God to be progressively revealed in us and through us.
