Changes mean working hard persistently II

Welcome dear readers of our column “Daily word for spiritual strength”! By the mercy of the Lord we are given the opportunity to feed our hearts with the living word from God. God is light and there is no any darkness in Him. The light of His word gives us wisdom. As we stated, from now on you are a new creation in Christ. However, you have to learn thinking and talking about yourself in a new, different way, walk and act as a new creation in Christ. The Bible tells us what qualities of your character you have to develop. For example, when I think about patience, I understand how important this quality is. Why do people, including christians, often break relationships with other people due to lack of patience. Where there is no patience, you always face problems with relationships. Each of has to learn patience and perseverance from our Heavenly Father. It´s generally impossible to build relationships with other people without patience.Let´s say you are about to become a friend of somebody, when suddenly that person makes you upset with his words. What would be your reaction to that? Having no patience you would resent and break any relationships with that person. This is how people stop being friends in family, in church and elsewhere. «Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do». (Colossians 3:12-13). While growing up and changing we will see how we become more patient. Patience is a fruit of the Spirit God wants to be visible in your life. Therefore, God sometimes permits conflicts in your life, to help you with developing the fruit of patience. God desires to trample our pride thus transforming us into likeness of loving, persevere Christ. You are still arrogant if you show resentment at nonsense. God desires to help you to get rid of this arrogance. That´s why He allows people to do wrong to us. God is trying to teach us how to handle such situations, so that we are able to build relationships with people as His representatives on this Earth. Everything God permits in our life works together for good if we let Him mould us. This is what the letter to Romans says: «We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.». (Romans 8:28). I have no idea what is that “all things” are in your life at this moment, but I am sure there are some unpleasant situations or circumstances God has permitted in your life in order to build your character according to His standards, so that all them work for good for you. If you allow God, He will use your problems to change you. Declare the following words loudly:«Thank You, Lord for renewing me every day in Your glory! I believe God will change me by His power, by the power of His Spirit and His word drastically. A year later you will not recognise me. I will become a better person, because He is working on me and I collaborate with Him. I am not stagnant, but renewing in God and praising Him by my changed life. Praise and glory to You, Jesus – my wonderful Lord!»God will do all necessary changes in you, so that you really become the light of the world and salt for the Earth! But, let Him do it! Be abundantly blessed today!Rufus Adjiboje, pastor

  • Why it is necessary for us to make praise as a way of life

Praise as a demonstration of our faith in God. In Roman 4: 20 we are told that Abraham He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God. One of the ways we can both demonstrate and build a strong faith in our lives is to learn to give glory. One way we can give glory to God is to believe Him, praise Him and holding unto His word despite the negative circumstances of life. Only those who believe God is in control of their lives and their situations can live such a life. But the truth is that we cannot enjoy the life of God until we learn to give glory to Him by demonstrating our faith in Him through praise on a daily basis.
  • Rejoice in the Lord! II

Dear friends, God once again delights to tell us to serve Him with gladness. Jesus once told His disciples: «Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven» (Luke, 10:20).If your name has been written in the Book of Life, if you are a child of God, then you are also a co-heir of Christ. And it is more than enough reason to motivate any of us to rejoice and thank God for every day of our lives.
  • God wants us to be people of strong character, operating with the character of Christ

Without such character the gifts of the Holy Spirit bear no fruits in and through us, neither does it delivers any satisfaction to us personally.God wants us to have more than anything else a continuous desire to be like Jesus. If God’s desire becomes ours, it will urge us to discover the gifts God has hidden inside of us.
  • What do we have to prepare ourselves for?

In order to know it you have to answer a few questions that can help you to understand what to do at the current stage of your life. What goals and tasks do I have today? What are my short-term and long-term projects for my life? What steps am going to take? Why are these goals and tasks so important? What else do I need to know in order to reach my goals?
  • Preparation is a key to effective life

In reality, effective life is impossible without appropriate preparation. Jesus solved the question of effectiveness by preparing Himself for the ministry. There is almost no information about what Jesus had been doing during the first 30 years of His life. Gospels tell us the story about His ministry. Meanwhile, we need to understand that prior to starting His ministry Jesus had been seriously preparing himself for quite a long time.
  • Be faithful in small things; then God will set you over many things! II

Do not compare yourself with other people, but always check whether you are faithful to God. Are you faithful to God in the area of being a good steward of the resources God has entrusted you?Jesus’ parable of talents says that after the lord returned and settled accounts with his first two servants that had multiplied their talents, he did not just praise them for their faithfulness; he also blessed and promoted them: «…you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things».
