A person must be filled with the Word and live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God

Greetings to you, dear friends! Grace and peace to you from Father God and our Lord Jesus Christ! We continue talking about the importance of filling one’s heart with God’s Word. A person must be filled with the Word and live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Some of us like to read the Book of Psalms, others only read the Proverbs. But we are told to feed on every word; it means we need to read all of it – from Genesis to Revelation. We must read and study the whole Word of God.
«…of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil» (Hebrews, 5:11-14).
People “dull of hearing” are not the ones who do not listen at all; they are the ones who are not able to grasp and comprehend. When we feed on God’s Word, this Word helps us grow spiritually. When we do not do it, we stay spiritual babies. Looking at some churches we can see that they are full of spiritual babies. This situation does not bring joy to God, because He can’t rely on spiritual babies. Babies are not capable of teaching others:
«For though by this time you ought to be teachers…» (Hebrews, 5:12а).
God’s desire concerning the Church is for the believers to be able to instruct new believers, bring unbelievers to Christ, teach, help and affect the lives of other people in a positive way. This is God’s intention for the Church. Yet, if we stay spiritual babies for a long time, God isn’t pleased. But when we fill our hearts with God’s Word and grow thereby, we will know biblical principles and will be able to teach them to others. God wants to see us growing; He desires to see us become spiritually mature believers. So we need to read the Word not just for ourselves, but also for others to be able to receive answers to their questions through us. It does not mean that we will know absolutely everything. Yet when we are continually filled with the Word, there will be less and less things that we do not know. I do not know everything. There were situations when I did not have the answer for a question. In cases like that I do not need to concoct an answer or talk about the things that I do know. When I am faced with something like that I honestly admit that I do not know and then go and seek the Word some more. When we search the Scripture, God always sends us His Word to strengthen us. After Prophet Elijah ran away from Ahab, he was so exhausted that he was ready to give up and die. Elijah even asked God to take him away. Even though just a moment ago Elijah felt strong and powerful and destroyed the prophets of Baal, he was filled with fear and felt weak. It says in the Bible that God sent His angel to bring Elijah some food. When the food was over, the angel brought some more. The angel told Elijah to eat because he would need strength to get to a far away destination and the trip would take 40 days.
«Then as he lay and slept under a broom tree, suddenly an angel touched him, and said to him, „Arise and eat”. Then he looked, and there by his head was a cake baked on coals, and a jar of water. So he ate and drank, and lay down again. And the angel of the LORD came back the second time, and touched him, and said, „Arise and eat, because the journey is too great for you.” So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God» (1 Kings, 19:5-8).
When Elijah ate and drank he got stronger and was able to walk for forty days and nights without feeling exhaustion. There should not be any exhaustion in a Christian life. We should not get tired. We must be strong. We must move forward. During different trials and temptations we must stay strong. It is all possible when we continually feed on God’s Word. May God give you the revelations about the strength and importance of God’s Word by the Holy Spirit! Till tomorrow! God bless you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

Forgiveness gives us strength to walk through the stages of our life.& «Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.».
