Accountability makes us stronger, more effective and more successful in our walk with God!

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!We have been talking about accountability which is an instrument of change and transformation in God’s hands. We have seen that we have to walk not only before God, but also before the people God has placed as overseers in our lives. When we talk about accountability, we do not mean continually confronting one another. Instead, the system of accountability allows us to challenge each other in the area of spiritual growth. The system of accountability helps us to exercise timely influence on our brothers and sisters and prevent delusions that can have destructive consequences and lead to spiritual death. This system provides the support, advice and assistance that we need so much. That is what it says in this passage of Scripture:
«Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called „Today”, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin» (Hebrews, 3:12-13).
As Christians we undergo continual process of spiritual growth. We are growing in our walk of faith, knowledge of God and His ways. And this process lasts our whole life. At the same time we experience different temptations and spiritual attacks and we are vulnerable to carnal and sinful desires. If you really want to grow in faith and be effective in your service to God, you have to be in one of the small groups. You must become accountable to others, or you are liable to fall, lose faith or become ineffective due to pride. Without accountability sin will overcome you sooner or later.
«Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called „Today”, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin» (Hebrews, 3:12-13).
Accountability is important and necessary to every Christian in order for him to reach the whole fullness and potential in God. Accountability is an imperative prerequisite to be successful in Christian walk and service to God! All Christians and the heads of Christian organizations must be accountable to somebody. There should be some people in our lives that we trust and that we are accountable to; it helps us to know ourselves better. Because of accountability we are able to see our strong and weak points. It is the accountability that helps us to see the condition of our spiritual man, the desires of our hearts and helps us to understand whether our desires comply with the plan God has for every one of us.Through accountability and Christian fellowship you will be able to see how to solve different problems and how to build relationships in general. Through accountability you will be able to understand and clearly see the purpose of life and the meaning of God’s calling for your life. Due to the system of accountability you will be able to know the depths of God’s Word and see life from God’s perspective. And then your behaviour and your reactions will change for good. This is why the Bible says that two are better than one:
´There is one alone, without companion; he has neither son nor brother, yet there is no end to all his labors, nor is his eye satisfied with riches. But he never asks, „For whom do I toil and deprive myself of good?” This also is vanity and a grave misfortune. Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes, 4:8-12).
Accountability makes us stronger, more effective and more successful in our walk with God! Talk to you tomorrow on the pages of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!May God’s mercy and His love accompany you throughout this day!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • How do we serve God?

We serve God by serving other people in His Name. To serve God actually means to serve other people in the Name of God or as the representative of God on the earth. It is to do good to others by meeting their spiritual, emotional, intellectual, physical or material needs as an act of our love for God. Please understand that your love for God will have a reflection your relationship with others. In the same way, your neglect of God reflects on how you relate to your neighbour.
  • The importance of our faithfulness to God

«.. and those who are with Him are called, chosen, and faithful» (Revelation, 17:14).In order to join the army of victors in Christ Jesus, it is important for us to be qualified in these three areas: in your calling, in been a chosen vessel and in faithfulness. Tomorrow we will talk about it in detail, but today I’d like you to see that the war is inescapable; but in this war God counts on His called, chosen and faithful people.
  • How to set grace free in our lives? II

The law of sowing and reaping governs how favour works. It is necessary to look at favour as a seed that must be sown. Jesus said that, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (Matthew 5:7).In other words, Jesus is saying, “Blessed are those who have sown favour or mercy, because they will reap favour or mercy”.Generally, the level of favour operating in your life depends on the level of the seed of favour you sow into other people’s lives. This means that I cannot expect the harvest of favour in my life until I have not sown mercy into other people’s lives.
  • God doesn’t want us to give up!

Nowadays many people give up as soon as something does not go like they expected or some problems start to choke them. I will tell you honestly that it is not hard to go through different problems with dignity, – you must learn it. It does not happen automatically; you must prepare yourself for it. If we won’t prepare ourselves ahead of time, then at difficult times we will fail and give up. Lack of discipline and preparation will create instability in our lives and will hinder our progress.
  • God gives to everyone according to his or her ability III

God has created us in His image and likeness, and He made us to be His children and He has separated us for Himself. God brought us into His wonderful light, into His Kingdom – through Jesus Christ! God has created us in Christ Jesus for good works, which He has ordained for us to do! This is alone is enough to give us a reason to be greatful to God. None of us deserve all these benefits, but God – because of His great love for us – has done all of these things for us in Jesus Christ. And God gave every one of us gifts and talents, so that we could expand His Kingdom and serve Him with His talents. God promises to bless us abundantly as we work and serve in His Kingdom.
  • What it means to accept personal responsibility

If you can remember, yesterday we talked about the fact that what defiles a person is not what is done to him, but his personal reaction to that. In the following Scripture we saw that neither the man nor the woman were willing to take personal responsibility for their actions.„The man said, “The woman you put here with me–she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.» Then the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (GEN 3:12-13)
