Accountability makes us stronger, more effective and more successful in our walk with God!

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!

We have been talking about accountability which is an instrument of change and transformation in God’s hands. We have seen that we have to walk not only before God, but also before the people God has placed as overseers in our lives.

When we talk about accountability, we do not mean continually confronting one another. Instead, the system of accountability allows us to challenge each other in the area of spiritual growth. The system of accountability helps us to exercise timely influence on our brothers and sisters and prevent delusions that can have destructive consequences and lead to spiritual death. This system provides the support, advice and assistance that we need so much. That is what it says in this passage of Scripture:

«Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called „Today”, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin» (Hebrews, 3:12-13).

As Christians we undergo continual process of spiritual growth. We are growing in our walk of faith, knowledge of God and His ways. And this process lasts our whole life. At the same time we experience different temptations and spiritual attacks and we are vulnerable to carnal and sinful desires.

If you really want to grow in faith and be effective in your service to God, you have to be in one of the small groups. You must become accountable to others, or you are liable to fall, lose faith or become ineffective due to pride. Without accountability sin will overcome you sooner or later.

«Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called „Today”, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin» (Hebrews, 3:12-13).

Accountability is important and necessary to every Christian in order for him to reach the whole fullness and potential in God. Accountability is an imperative prerequisite to be successful in Christian walk and service to God! All Christians and the heads of Christian organizations must be accountable to somebody.

There should be some people in our lives that we trust and that we are accountable to; it helps us to know ourselves better. Because of accountability we are able to see our strong and weak points. It is the accountability that helps us to see the condition of our spiritual man, the desires of our hearts and helps us to understand whether our desires comply with the plan God has for every one of us.

Through accountability and Christian fellowship you will be able to see how to solve different problems and how to build relationships in general. Through accountability you will be able to understand and clearly see the purpose of life and the meaning of God’s calling for your life. Due to the system of accountability you will be able to know the depths of God’s Word and see life from God’s perspective. And then your behaviour and your reactions will change for good.

This is why the Bible says that two are better than one:

´There is one alone, without companion; he has neither son nor brother, yet there is no end to all his labors, nor is his eye satisfied with riches. But he never asks, „For whom do I toil and deprive myself of good?” This also is vanity and a grave misfortune. Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes, 4:8-12).

Accountability makes us stronger, more effective and more successful in our walk with God!

Talk to you tomorrow on the pages of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!

May God’s mercy and His love accompany you throughout this day!

Accountability makes us strong and unites us to the other believers; it also kills the “I am a lone island” thinking. This type of thinking has caused many problems that the Body of Christ still suffers from.God does not want you to be an island that is separated and independent of the other brothers and sisters in Christ. We are not only responsible to being accountable ourselves; we also need to call others to accountability and help them with it.

  • We are hands, feet, mouth and heart of our God

We concluded that we are hands, feet, mouth and heart of our God. If we refuse to collaborate with God, He will not be able to act or fulfil His plan in our cities and our countries. We stopped at what do we have to do in order to witness spiritual revival filling our cities? To make it happen we must become obedient disciples of Jesus Christ. God uses this kind of people to fulfil His prophesies and restore His will on Earth.Obedient disciple is one who moves and works for God, not sitting and doing nothing, so God can move through such person.
