All true ministry begins in the presence of God IV

Peace to you and grace be multiplied in Jesus Name!

I want us to continue to explore the classic example we saw in the book of Isaiah about starting our ministry in the presence of God. So far we have seen that such lifestyle allows us to see things from a godly perspective. It also helps us to have a sound understanding of ourselves. We saw that spending time with God also helps in transforming our character and removing our limitations.

Today we are going to see another thing that happened to Isaiah in the temple as he drew near to God.

Isaiah saw the needs that really concern God’s heart at the moment.

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6: 8).

We can be too busy about many good things, but there are some specific needs that are closer to the heart of God right now, that He knows you have the opportunity to meet. The only way you can be aware of those needs is when you turn a listening ear to Him.

The mistake of Martha when Jesus visited their house was that she became overly busy with the desire to feed Jesus and His disciples with physical food. Meanwhile, at that moment, feeding the Spirit of Jesus by just spending time with Him and listening to Him was more important. Mary got it right and Jesus praised her for that.

“As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41″Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10: 38-42).

Are you so busy about ministry that you are forgetting to spend time with the master? How will you know if you are pleasing Him or not, if you do not take some time to listen to His evaluation of what you are doing? It is so important to cultivate a sensitive heart that can easily discern God’s desire. This kind of heart can be cultivated as we understand that all ministries should begin in the presence of God.
This is God’s word for you today.

May God help you to develop a more sensitive heart as you continue to serve God with your gifts and abilities in Jesus Name!

  • How Prophet Elisha accomplished his goal in life

Elijah was the spiritual father of Elisha. After Elisha closely observed the life of this man of God in his life and saw all the miracles that God performed through Elijah, he understood that the key to Elijah’s success was his love and total commitment to God. So Elisha desired and became hungry for the same anointing and lifestyle of Elijah his mentor. But more interestingly is the fact that Elisha wasn’t satisfied to do just what Elijah did; he craved for the double portion of Elijah’s his anointing.

  • Doctrine shows us which direction we should take

When we read the Bible we receive doctrine, which means we start to see where we should go. Through the reading of the Bible we are shown the direction for our thought life, our words and all other areas of our lives.Besides, the Bible is profitable for reproof. Quite often we start walking the way the Bible has shown us, but then we somehow get distracted, lose the right direction and get sidetracked. It is through reproof that we are shown that we have taken the wrong path

  • Any change in our life is done by the Holy Spirit, who transforms us and moves us from glory to glory

Are you able to accomplish something only the Holy Spirit can do? Surely not! However, by constantly watching the glory of the Lord with open face the Holy Spirit can transform us into the same image, from glory to glory.I noticed there is a problem with persistence in our fellowship with God not with coming before Him. You probably experience the time when inspiration visits you and you are willing to get closer to God and have fellowship with Him. While those moments come rather rarely or very rarely they do not change anything in essence. We all need persistence! During fellowship with God Holy Spirit will work at your heart, at your character, at your relationships, at your way of thinking that, in turn, will transform you.

  • Poverty and failure have roots and laziness is an obvious one

One of the reasons for spiritual coldness and lukewarmness is negligence and laziness. Marital failure, financial poverty, failure in ministry and many other forms of poverty can all be traced back to the same root of negligence or dealing with a slack hand.“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich” (Proverbs 10:4)

  • How do we acquire such “great faith”?

Let’s try to find the answer to that question today. The Bible declares that faith comes from hearing God’s Word (Rom.10:17). So if you want your faith to grow, my advice to you is this– continue to listen to Gods word and fill your heart and mind with it.At the same time be ready for your faith to be tested. You cannot find out if your faith is growing without examination. Problems and trials are tests of your faith.

  • Why do we need to cultivate gratitude in our lives II

«For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren» (Romans, 8:29).It is God’s desire for us to be conformed into the image of God’s only Son – Jesus Christ. Gratitude is one of the qualities that help us to do that. Later we will see how gratitude was demonstrated in the life of Jesus and how many events in His life were directly connected to thanksgiving.
