All true ministry begins in the presence of God IV

Peace to you and grace be multiplied in Jesus Name!I want us to continue to explore the classic example we saw in the book of Isaiah about starting our ministry in the presence of God. So far we have seen that such lifestyle allows us to see things from a godly perspective. It also helps us to have a sound understanding of ourselves. We saw that spending time with God also helps in transforming our character and removing our limitations.Today we are going to see another thing that happened to Isaiah in the temple as he drew near to God.Isaiah saw the needs that really concern God’s heart at the moment.
“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” (Isaiah 6: 8).
We can be too busy about many good things, but there are some specific needs that are closer to the heart of God right now, that He knows you have the opportunity to meet. The only way you can be aware of those needs is when you turn a listening ear to Him.The mistake of Martha when Jesus visited their house was that she became overly busy with the desire to feed Jesus and His disciples with physical food. Meanwhile, at that moment, feeding the Spirit of Jesus by just spending time with Him and listening to Him was more important. Mary got it right and Jesus praised her for that.
“As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” 41″Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10: 38-42).
Are you so busy about ministry that you are forgetting to spend time with the master? How will you know if you are pleasing Him or not, if you do not take some time to listen to His evaluation of what you are doing? It is so important to cultivate a sensitive heart that can easily discern God’s desire. This kind of heart can be cultivated as we understand that all ministries should begin in the presence of God. This is God’s word for you today.May God help you to develop a more sensitive heart as you continue to serve God with your gifts and abilities in Jesus Name!Pastor Rufus Ajiboy

  • We´ve been created to glorify God!

If you had a polluted garment on even a brand new garment, what would you feel like? I am sure you would feel disgusted. This is exactly what those who try to please God through their good works without Christ feel. It doesn´t matter how many good works you do, God would never accept you unless you accept Jesus by faith. God´s peace enters your heart because you get to know Jesus and realise that in Him you are saved and accepted by God.
  • What kind of privileges or advantages does the person who hears God’s voice possess over the others who don’t?

Usually, we never dedicate time to something unless we realise its advantage and strict necessity for us. When we realise what we are losing by not understanding and hearing God’s voice, then we can become zealous and motivated to do our best in order to dedicate time and attention to it. You must understand that satan is a thief and given a smallest chance he will take away all our privileges and opportunities in God.
  • What are you doing with your talent?

I pray that all of us would hear this not only with our ears, but with our hearts. This parable of Jesus is about the Kingdom of God. One of the things Jesus taught intensively was the Kingdom of God. And there were serious reasons for it. The kingdoms of this earth will pass away, and a new Kingdom will come – the Kingdom of God. Jesus brought God’s Kingdom to the earth, and He desires us to know this Kingdom, seeking it and living in it. It says in the Bible that first of all we must seek the Kingdom and its righteousness. It is not that easy, because there is another kingdom that opposes God and pulls our hearts. That is why Jesus spoke intensively about God’s Kingdom, and almost all of His parables are about God’s Kingdom.
  • Prayer is a two-way communication

Like I said, it is not what I tell God that it is the most important thing in prayer; it is what God wants to tell me. I will explain why it is so. Is there anything you can tell Him that He does not know! Is there anything at all? He knows everything. You may think that nobody knows what you are going through and that nobody knows the problems you have and how hard your life is. That may apply to people, but not to God. God knows everything! Even before you start praying, God knows everything you may want to tell Him. God also knows why these things are happening to you.
  • Why is it so important to hold on to eternal life?

If you won’t be alert and pray, you won’t even notice how eternal life will slip away from you. Have you ever tried to hold a live fish in your hands? Even if you manage to take it, it can cunningly slip out of your hands. In the very same way eternal life can slip away from you without you even noticing. You won’t notice the moment when that happens. You could go on with your religious activities, attending church meetings, praying, reading the Bible, but not be on the way to eternal life. None of these things is able to guarantee to you that you will surely keep eternal life. You know, so many unbelievers do all these things: they go to church, read their Bibles, pray.
  • The voice of God is the source of the spirit of faith

There are two dimensions of faith:THE WORD OF FAITH«But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) or “’Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach)» (Romans, 10: 6-8)
