Are you growing in your walk with God?
Hello friends!
What a great opportunity to feed on the word of God once again this wonderful day! The word God laid on my heart to share with you today is about growing in grace and in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
“But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…” (2 Peter 3: 18)
I feel God wants you to answer the following vital question: Are you growing in your walk with God? It is God desires for every one of His children to continue to grow in their relationship with Him. The reason is obvious from the Bible: until we grow up, we won’t be able to enjoy the privileges God has provided for us as His sons and daughters.“Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; 2 But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. 3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: {elements: or, rudiments}” (Galatians 4: 1-3).
The above Scriptures state that unless we grow up, we remain servants instead of enjoying our rights as heirs of God; we remain under the control of the things we ought to dominate and lord over. We come under bondage instead of walking in the freedom of the children of God Jesus became an example for us as to how we ought to be growing in our walk with God. He set His life as an example so that we can follow His foot steps:“And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. …And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man” (Luke 2: 40, 52).
Jesus was born as a child, but He grew up and was given to the world as a Son upon whose shoulder was the government of God.“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder :”( Isaiah 9:6).
Until we grow up God cannot entrust us with certain level of Kingdom authority. He cannot entrust us with certain resources of His Kingdom.- Is there any evidence in your life that you are growing as a Christian?
- Can God trust you with more of the treasures of His Kingdom?
- Are you a responsible Christian or are you still childish in you thinking and approach to life?
- Are you still living under bondage to the things you are commanded to rule over?
- What are you doing everyday to ensure that you are growing and waxing stronger in the Lord?
