Do you know what is your mission in this life?

Welcome, my dear friends! Mercy and peace of our Father God and our Lord, Jesus Christ be with you. I am glad that you find the time to visit our column “Daily word for spiritual strength” and add to your wisdom hidden in the word of God. The word of God brings light into our life.

For a few days we have been discussing how important it is to reveal and fulfil God´s will in our life. Jesus set a best example of how to achieve that. The God´s will and its fulfilment bring abundance and happiness into our life. Yesterday we mentioned three ways of how we need to grow in order to fulfil our mission on this Earth.

First of all, you have to personally know God, His nature, His heart and the goals He set for His creatures.

Secondly, you have to know yourself as a different person, one who sits with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. It´s necessary to understand your mission and the goal of your life on Earth, the power you´ve been given as a child of God and your heritage you possess together with the holy ones.

As a third thing, you should get to know your enemy – satan. We need a revelation about how to fight the devil, so that we can fulfil our mission on Earth.

We are created in Christ to do good works, God has already prepared for you.

«For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.»(Ephesians 2:10).

Doing God´s will means doing the good works God prepared for you. When Jesus began His ministry, He openly declared his mission, because He was clearly aware of His mission.

«The book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the book, and found the place where it was written,
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, Because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim release to the captives, Recovering of sight to the blind, To deliver those who are crushed, And to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began to tell them, “Today, this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”» (Luke 4:17-21).

Jesus opened the Scripture and found His mission there, so He revealed God´s will for His life. Jesus encountered all the good deeds God wanted Him to do, namely:

  • to preach good news (to share the Gospel) to the poor;
  • to heal the broken-hearted;
  • to proclaim release to the captives;
  • recovering of sight to the blind;
  • to deliver those who are crushed.

Everyone can reveal God´s will by doing the same. Do not limit yourself with prayers and difficult questions you may have. Study the Bible setting the goal to reveal your mission, it´s already written there. Ask God in prayer to open your eyes and let you see yourself in the Bible.

As you are praying, reading the Bible and meditate on it, Jesus will visit you through the Holy Spirit and open your heart, the same way He did it to the two disciples on the road to Emmaus, so that you can understand the Scripture.

«As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.” … He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.” Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.» (Luke 24:36,44-45).

The Bible tells us that Jesus sends us to the world the way His Father sent Him to the world.

«As you sent me into the world, even so I have sent them into the world.» (John 17:18).

This verse tells us that God wants every believer to reveal his mission by having constant fellowship and close relationships with God and by studying His word. God also wants us to talk and declare our mission just like Jesus did, thus confirm ourselves in God´s will.

Do you know what is your mission in this life? Have you revealed your mission? Can you see yourself while reading the Scripture? Remember, fulfilment of God´s will in your life is vitally important, because the fulfilment of global God´s will depends on it.

God bless you today! Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

  • Without certain changes in our lives we won’t be able to receive God’s vision

    The first thing God did to Abram was that He took him out of the tent, out of his comfort zone. While we stay within our comfort zone where we feel at ease, where we do not need to make an effort, where everything goes according to the habitual scenario, we are not able to see what God wants to show us. For this reason God often desires us to get out of our comfort zone, out of our routine lifestyle and for us to put forth some effort to expand our knowledge of the will of God for our life.
  • Through prayer we invite God to take part in our lives

    God does not come into our lives without being asked. Praying means to invite God to come and help us. It is a realization of the fact that I am weak and there is One Who is stronger than me, Who loves me and cares for me. Prayer is an invitation to the One Who is stronger than me and my circumstances.Do you remember Jairus? We read about him in Mark (5:22-23). He had sent his people to Jesus to invite Him to his house, because his daughter was on the verge of death.
  • Without the Holy Spirit we are not able to manifest God in our lives

    1) Jesus gave some commandments to the Apostles BY THE HOLY SPIRIT (verse 2).Jesus Himself relied on the Holy Spirit in everything He did during His days in flesh. When He took on flesh, He was limited by it and He needed the Holy Spirit. As people we live in flesh and we also are limited by it. The only way for us to overcome these limitations is to rely on the Holy Spirit. We must be aware of the necessity and our dependency on the Holy Spirit. We must seek Him daily.
  • The power of compassion

    Today I would like to talk about the power of compassion. If we look at the life of Jesus as the image of God – and that is Who Jesus is, – we will see that Jesus was motivated by compassion. When we are moved by compassion, we can’t be idle and barren. Our world is full of problems and God is calling us to work to solve them. We are His representatives on the earth. We are the Body of Christ on earth, so anything that God wants to do here He does through us.Looking at the life of Jesus we see that He never was idle. Every time when He wanted to be alone and relax after long hours of ministry, people would find Him and ask for help. And He never rejected anybody. Many times we read in the Bible: «He had compassion and ministered to them». He went from town to town, because He was anointed to bring solutions where problems were.
  • Compassionate service to others will fill our life with satisfaction and make us happy in the Lord

    It is in ministering to others instead of focusing on ourselves that we discover a fulfilled, happy and satisfied life. • You make room for Him and His Word in your daily schedule

    “Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him.”According to the above passage, there is a process or protocol we need to follow if we want to see and experience the manifestations of God in our lives and in ministries.Now it is true that God is an omnipresence God. He is present everywhere at the same time. However, it is important to note that his presence is more real and felt in some places than anywhere else. What determines such a big difference? This is what I mean when I say we need to follow a protocol. Following the right protocol is what differentiates between the intensity of God’s manifest presence in our lives, home and churches.
