Do You Hear What God Is Saying?

Peace to you and grace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ!

I greet you in our column “Daily Word for Spiritual Strength”! Today, I want to start a conversation about a very significant theme: Do You Hear What God Says.

God speaks constantly! The question is whether you hear what He says.

God created everything by His Word, and He holds everything together by the power of His Word.

“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.” (Genesis 1:3).
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.” (Hebrews 1:3).

Once Jesus said,

“My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” (John 10:27-29).

In this excerpt, Jesus speaks about the sheep who hear His voice. Jesus said about them, “I give them eternal life.” He did not say, “I gavethem eternal life”. The word “gave” is the past tense, and if Jesus had said that He had given eternal life, this would mean that God had already given eternal life and it was forever. But, as Jesus used the word “give”, this is understood as the present tense, but not as the eternal life that we received after we repented by receiving Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Jesus speaks about everyday salvation, which He grants us if we obey and follow His voice every day.

Once God opened my eyes to see the difference between the life of resurrection, which we received after repentance, and the life in abundance, which we enjoy every day. The life of resurrection is within us, and we receive it the day we repent. But today we can meet very many people who have the life of resurrection yet are unhappy. How many such believers do you know – they come to church but at the same time they are not satisfied with their lives? There are many such people! What is the problem? The problem is that they have the life of resurrection, but they do not have the life in abundance. What is the difference between the life of resurrection and the life in abundance? Jesus said,

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:27-28).

By this, Jesus wanted to say that no shocks and no problems or obstacles will not snatch His sheep out of God’s hands as long as they hear His voice.

Whether we want it or not, we constantly hear someone’s voice.

Sometimes you can hear your voice of common sense, which imposes and dictates certain thoughts to you. However, if you live by the voice of your common sense, you’ll never be able to enter the supernatural sphere, from which God initiates His works. Your mind cannot understand God; therefore, a life dictated by common sense prevents you from receiving from God what He has prepared for you.

The Bible says:

“However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him.”” (1.Corinthians 2:9).

If this is so, and the Bible is the truth, your common sense does not know the whole truth about your life, your circumstances, and your future. Common sense must not dictate what we believe or do not believe. Every believer must learn to intentionally ignore the voice of common sense, especially when it does not coincide with what God says. You cannot hear God’s voice if you listen all the time to the voice of your common sense.

May God richly bless you today!

We will meet tomorrow!

  • Value God’s Word! IV

Today I would like to continue talking about the importance of God’s Word.We saw what God spoke through Moses that God’s Word is our life. We also talked about the fact that our attitude towards the Word can either prolong our life or shorten it. We have already seen in the parables of Jesus that our attitude towards God’s Word determines the strength of our foundation, our life and all the things we are building. Yesterday we also talked about the fact that God’s Word is able to change our disappointments into joy, bankruptcy – into abundance. We saw all of it in the life of Peter. I would like for us to look at the verses that talk about Peter when he was utterly failing and ready to give up.

  • Apart from Him there is no true satisfaction and happiness! II

Today we will look at some more areas of Solomon’s life where he tried to find happiness and satisfaction. Many people try to do that. Let’s look at the Scripture.«Therefore I hated life because the work that was done under the sun was distressing to me, for all is vanity and grasping for the wind. Then I hated all my labor in which I had toiled under the sun, because I must leave it to the man who will come after me»(Ecclesiastes, 2:16-17).

  • What are the benefits of pain and suffering at the time? IV

In order for us to learn react to problems and pain in a correct manner we need a revelation about the fact that while we live in this world there will be no end to pain and hardships. For as long as sin exists on the earth pain won’t cease in people’s lives. We suffer not only due to our own sins and wrong decisions, but also due to the sins and wrong decisions of other people.Joshua and Caleb, as well as the whole generation of Israel that finally entered the Promised Land were forced to wander through the wilderness for almost 40 years. Why? We know that Joshua and Caleb had a different spirit and they believed God and walked in obedience. Nevertheless, due to the wrong decisions made by other people they had to suffer and wander in the wilderness for all that time.

  • God doesn’t want us to give up! III

First of all, God ”will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able”. Maybe you don´t even feel that He is keeping all your situations under control but as a matter of fact, He has already set the limit of your hardships. God will not let things, that are above what you can bear, enter your life. You probably underestimate your own strength, but God knows better. When your reasoning is right you prevail over hardships. God will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, so you can overcome all difficulties in life – that´s the idea you should feed your mind with.
