God wants to be our Friends

Greetings to you, dear brothers and sisters! I am glad to be able to address you with the words of encouragement and edification. We have been talking about the fact that God wants to be our Friends and wants to reveal to us His secrets that bring breakthroughs and exaltation.

The Bible says that God called Abram His friend. God came to Abram and said that He cannot hide from him what He has purposed to do:

«And the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am doing, since Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they keep the way of the LORD, to do righteousness and justice, that the LORD may bring to Abraham what He has spoken to him”»(Быт.18:17-19)

Jesus said practically the same thing to His disciples: «You are My friends! And what God reveals to Me, I reveal to you»:

«No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you» (John, 15:15).

God saved the children of Israel, brought them out of Egypt, led them by miracles; nevertheless, they did not get to know Him personally. They did not know His voice, – they only knew about Him. The children of Israel knew Him as being the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of their fathers who delivered them, but they did not know Him as a Person. And God told them that He wants to get to know them. Moses heard God because He knew Him personally and knew His ways. God wanted them to hear Him and to see His glory. That is why God brought them to the mountain where He planned to show Himself to them (see Exodus, 19). But they got scared and said that they did not want to hear God anymore; they preferred Moses received messages from God for them. What were the consequences of this decision? They did not know God and His ways for there was no communication between them:

«He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel» (Psalm, 103:7).

When we learn to hear God’s voice, we have communication with Him and we grow into the knowledge of His ways and Him personally. God has so much on His heart that He wants to share with us. God desires to share with us what He is planning to do. It may relate to your life or the lives of your children, or your business, or the situation in the town you live in, or the situation in other places. God also desires to reveal Himself to us. But if we have not learnt to hear His voice, all these things are not available to us.

It is not possible to love someone and not be willing to share the secrets of your heart with him or her. God is love and He desires us to know Him on a very deep level. It is only possible when we know God’s voice. We cannot walk with God unless we start hearing and understanding Him. The Bible says that two cannot walk together unless they understand each other:

«Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?» (Amos, 3:3).

We want to walk with God just like Enoch did. But how can one walk with God if we do not see Him? Only through fellowship with Him.

«And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him» (Genesis, 5:24).

«To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out» (John, 10:3).

God wants to have fellowship with each one of us individually, that is why He calls us by name:

«So the LORD spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle» (Exodus, 33:11).

God desires to talk to us face to face like He talked to Moses. Those are the times when we learn to understand Him.

We will continue tomorrow!

I wish you abundant God’s blessings!

  • The Importance of God’s will

Today I would like to start talking about „The Importance of God’s will”. The Holy Scripture says: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” (Mathew, 7: 21). The Bible calls every one of us to have sound mind, especially in learning the will of God for his or her life.«Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is» (Ephesians, 5:18).Why is it so important to allocate some time for seeking out the will of God? Why is understanding of God’s will so necessary for a person? It is because the understanding of God’s will determine both our happiness here, on earth, and our status in the future, in eternity.

  • We are the new creation in Christ Jesus, made for good deeds the Lord has determined for us II

«For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.»(Ephesians 2:8-10).Here we can see that person is not made righteous by his deeds. God never declares somebody righteous by his many good works. Vice verse, God makes righteous those who accept His gift by faith, namely Christ Jesus. A person becomes good in God´s eyes by faith when he believes in good works God has done in Christ.

  • Through prayer we invite God to take part in our lives

God does not come into our lives without being asked. Praying means to invite God to come and help us. It is a realization of the fact that I am weak and there is One Who is stronger than me, Who loves me and cares for me. Prayer is an invitation to the One Who is stronger than me and my circumstances.Do you remember Jairus? We read about him in Mark (5:22-23). He had sent his people to Jesus to invite Him to his house, because his daughter was on the verge of death.

  • People willing to worship God effectively meditate of His character

Thinking about God and His Majesty, focusing our mind on Him should become something we are constantly worried about. That´s what Jesus taught His disciples. You have to look at God with the eyes of your heart before you open your mouth for prayer.Humble meditation of the God´s character He revealed to us is another way of how to worship Him. We receive His mercy when reading His Word, this, in turn, testifies about God´s character.
