Grateful people – they are people able for self-sacrifice!

I greet every reader on this wonderful day that was created by God!

May God give you spirit of wisdom and revelation about His Word which is alive and working.

God is love, and because He loves, He sacrifices. All the persons in the Bible that were called the friends of God, were able for self-sacrifice.

Today, let us look at the life of Abraham.

It is written in the Bible that when God’s angels came to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, God said, Then the LORD said, “Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?” (Genesis 18:17) In the Russian translation of the Bible the second part of the verse goes like this, „He is my friend, and he must know this.”

How did Abraham draw God’s attention to himself? He loved God not only in words, but also in works. During his life, Abraham built many altars for God and offered many sacrifices to Him.

This is a description of one of these altars:

The LORD appeared to Abram and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him. From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and called on the name of the LORD.” (Genesis 12:7-8).

Again, we see that God is initiator of everything. If we think about God, if we are attentive towards His works, it will not be hard for us to offer sacrifice for Him. Why did Abraham build an altar for God? God appeared before Abraham and said, “To your offspring I will give this land.”Abraham built and altar as a sign for his gratefulness for God.

Grateful people – they are people able for self-sacrifice!

What is our response like today? How do we express our gratitude to God for the fact that we live, that He protects us, that He has saved us, that we breathe, walk, and we have families and children? What God is doing for us today – does it help us be more open, sacrifice more and become better worshippers?

People of God’s Kingdom – they are people grateful to God. Develop gratefulness in yourself! Gratitude helps us walk in humbleness before God and turn to Him at all times. David clearly knew, if God was not with him, he would not be among the living.

If the LORD had not been on our side when men attacked us, when their anger flared against us, they would have swallowed us alive; the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us, the raging waters would have swept us away. … Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalms 124:2-5,8).

May you be known as a grateful person able for self-sacrifice, and God will definitely bless you.

May God bless you abundantly!

Until tomorrow!

  • What are the benefits of pain and suffering at the time?

Problems draw our attention faster than anything else.Problems can become a spiritual “alarm clock” from God. This is what Job (36:15) points out: “He delivers the poor in their affliction, and opens their ears in oppression”.In times of prosperity and abundance we hear God as whispering, but in times of pain and suffering we hear Him loud and clear. God has an ability to revive our attention towards His Word and His voice. That is why Solomon says that in times of abundance we should enjoy life, but in times of suffering we should think about our life.
  • Our highest calling – to reveal God in our flesh

The Bible says: «For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him» (John, 1:17-18).The law can never save people because the law only reveals the sinful nature of man. The law was given in order for people to realize their need for God and His help. It was Jesus who brought to us the truth and the grace that conveys spiritual power necessary to live in accordance with God’s will. Anyone who will accept this truth and grace will have the power to live a holy life and become an instrument in God’s hand that is able to manifest or declare God’s truth and grace to other people.
  • Why we need the favour?

«We have heard with our ears, O God, our father have told us, the deeds You did in their days, in days of old: You drove out the nations with Your hand, but them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out. For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favoured them» (Psalm 44:1-3).
  • Hope of salvation II

Today Abraham´s example shows us the way of life we should live in this world. It also helps us to understand the role of hope at the battle of the last days. Nothing in this world captured him nor temptation to become rich could influence his relationships with God, because he had the hope of salvation. Having the hope of salvation makes walking in faith easy nowadays. Regardless of what you have or lack you can easily rejoice even nowadays.
  • Sin is one of the main sources of tragedies and various curses on the earth

So we see that sin is one of the sources of tragedies in the world. Dear reader, you can ease the suffering in the world by joining to the army of people who overcome evil by the power of love. Because of Moses’ correct decision, millions of Jews were saved from destruction. Because of your correct decision God can bless your family, your city, your country and the whole world. If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Saviour and you still lust for the wrong things, if you still resist God’s will and experience excessive appetite for sinful things and give in to impulses, – you need to know that by your life you multiply pain and suffering in this world.
  • The truth shall make free

Many people today are running here and there in search of freedom, deliverance and happiness. However, God has place in our hand the responsibility of delivering ourselves from the snare of the devil“Give not sleep to thine eyes, nor slumber to thine eyelids.Deliver thyself as a roe from the hand of the hunter, and as a bird from the hand of the fowler” (Proverb 6: 4-5).
