Without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God

I am so glad that we have another opportunity to draw wisdom from the Lord Jesus Christ. Today I will like to talk with you on a very vital topic, and that is on Faith. I believe it is the desire of every serious child of God to please God with his or her life. The Bible already tell us one way we can do that, and that is by walking in faith. Hebrew 11:6 declares that without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. Please note that this scriptures is not saying it will be difficult to please God without faith, but rather it says it will be an impossible task to please God without faith.Faith, – biblical faith is cooperation with God in all sense. God will not do everything for you. He will not do for you, what you are unwilling to do yourself. Don’t just fold your arm in passivity expecting God to put bread in your mouth. The proof that you have faith in God is to carry out the instruction you already know. That is the essence of praying and reading the Bible, – to discern His will and understand His mind concerning a given situation and then act on what you know God is calling you to do. As soon as God reveal to you His will concerning any situation or areas of your life, He is expecting from you the corresponding action. It is your ability to act on the Word of God that proves to God the level of your faith or trust in Him.The Word said faith without work is dead.
“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also “ (Jas 2:26).
Throughout the whole Bible we can see that faith is always connected with definite action of the believer. For example, Peter told Jesus “ at thy word I will let down the net”
” And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net” (Luke 5:5).
This became the point of breakthrough in the life and business of Peter. Do you aspire divine breakthrough in your life? Faith will play a vital role in that. However, Faith is action and not passive expectation of miracle from God. Proof to God through your action and attitude today that you trust Him and you have Faith in His Word.Remember, Faith is cooperation between God and man. God does His own part and man must do his own part as well. May the Lord bless you abundantly this wonderful day of the week! See you next time! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Value God’s Word! IV

Today I would like to continue talking about the importance of God’s Word.We saw what God spoke through Moses that God’s Word is our life. We also talked about the fact that our attitude towards the Word can either prolong our life or shorten it. We have already seen in the parables of Jesus that our attitude towards God’s Word determines the strength of our foundation, our life and all the things we are building. Yesterday we also talked about the fact that God’s Word is able to change our disappointments into joy, bankruptcy – into abundance. We saw all of it in the life of Peter. I would like for us to look at the verses that talk about Peter when he was utterly failing and ready to give up.
  • Why do we need to cultivate gratitude in our lives II

«For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren» (Romans, 8:29).It is God’s desire for us to be conformed into the image of God’s only Son – Jesus Christ. Gratitude is one of the qualities that help us to do that. Later we will see how gratitude was demonstrated in the life of Jesus and how many events in His life were directly connected to thanksgiving.
  • Only those who seek will find

You will find out what is there in you if you get diligent about seeking it out. Only those who seek will find. For example, many people only see problems. Don’t look for problems and don’t talk about them; focus on the solutions. Train your heart and your mind to find answers and solutions for different problems. As soon as you see a problem, start thinking about possible solutions for it. Start meditating on possible ways to solve it, and God will give multiple ideas for serving people.
  • Ministry and giving determines the measure of one’s spiritual growth and maturity

We are still talking about the blessedness of ministry and giving. We discussed that the one who loves God always serves people. Whoever serves people is blessed and exalted by God. God can’t support those that are only concerned with their own well-being and does not have any time for the promotion of the Kingdom of God.Ministry and giving determines the measure of one’s spiritual growth and maturity. It also determines how much I bear a resemblance to Jesus Christ. God wants us to grow spiritually. One of the indications of one’s spiritual growth is how he or she fulfils the needs of others. Such a person not only takes and receives, but also gives. Giving and ministry is one and the same word that determines how much of resemblance to Jesus Christ I bear.
  • God’s Word is water

God’s Word is treasure we must treat right; through it we have to be established in the eternal life given to us by God. It says in the Bible: «It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter» (Proverbs, 25:2).
  • But he who endures to the end shall be saved!

The question arises why so many people start their walk with God but turn aside in one of the crossroads of life; they turn back to where they came from. It reminds me the story of Jewish people. For a long time this nation was in slavery in Egypt. They were burdened by hard work with no payment. The nation of Israel cried out to God, and God delivered them and brought them out of Egypt. They had to walk to the Promised Land. Every day they were getting closer to it. There were difficulties on their way; they had to flee some wrong things, avoid making wrong decisions, wrong relationships; they had to overcome grumbling and complaining. Israelites had to obtain more and more knowledge of God while heading towards their Promised Land.
