Organization of effective prayer life II

Greetings to you, my dear friends!Praise God for this wonderful day, which He has given us!! Thank God for one more opportunity to be filled with His living word! Yesterday we began talking about effective prayer life. We established that an individual cannot be effective in ministry to God and to men without effective prayer. You know that there are prayers that reach God and there are prayers that do not reach God. We will talk about it later. Every person has his own understanding of prayer. I want to share with you some insight in this area.
  1. Prayer is spiritual effort.
Prayer has nothing to do with our intellectual abilities. It has everything to do with our spirit, so it is spiritual labour. Prayer is the spirit of man appealing to God Who also is Spirit. God is Spirit and a man is spirit, so effective prayer is communication and fellowship of human spirit with the Spirit of God. Prayer is spiritual aspiration for God. Of course, our mind has its part in prayer, but if prayer only stays in the realm of mind, but the spirit does not connect with God, then it is not prayer at all. Every time I have touched God in prayer, my spirit knows it has connected with God and I know I have communicated with God.Prayer is not an intellectual game. The truth is that human beings cannot connect with God other than by the spirit. The only part of a man that can contact God is his spirit. And our spirit is the centre or the basis of our life. So first and foremost, prayer is communing with God on a spiritual level and it implies effort. Praying is not physical work; it is spiritual labour.I would like to point out that no other creature has been given this amazing privilege. A dog cannot contact God. A cow cannot fellowship with Him. Trees cannot communicate to the Creator. Only humans have this privilege. The very reason God created men is so that He could fellowship with them. No other creature was made in the image of God and according to His likeness, – only human beings. Why did God create a man in His image and according to His likeness? So that he could fellowship with God – spirit to Spirit. It is an enormous privilege.Prayer is a privilege! I have been given a licence to commune with the Creator of the Universe. I have a great advantage to walk into God’s presence and communicate to Him – spirit to Spirit. And we know that when Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden, then the first thing he lost was fellowship with God. After the fall Adam lost his communion with God; he ran away from God and hid. Adam could not freely come before the face of God and fellowship with Him. Because of the fall Adam died spiritually. When it happened, everything grew worse and worse. After the fall, there was a break in Adam’s relationship with God, and afterwards illness, ageing, hatred and other evils came into the life of humanity. Why? The connection with God was lost. That is why we say that prayer is similar to breathing, but in spiritual sense. We can live only by the communion with God. Only when we fellowship with Him, we can be renewed, restored and equipped. When a man sinned, Jesus came and died for all of us; He shed His blood and washed away our sins so that our fellowship with God could be restored.Let’s read 1 Corinthians (1:9):
«God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord». You are called into the fellowship with God!
Let’s look at another verse of the Scripture:
«..that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ» (1 John, 1:3).
Here we can see that, first, prayer is fellowship with God and, second, we are called into this fellowship.Every day God calls us to communicate to Him. When you wake up in the morning, your first calling is to fellowship with Him. If you want to life, you need to fellowship with God. If you want to live spiritually, you need to pray!I wish you to be spiritually strong and alert!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • God’s desire for our faith not to be based on the wisdom of man, the wisdom of this age, but on the wisdom of God!

Only God’s wisdom is meant to bring us into the place of glory. The wisdom of God glorifies and exalts us. It is very important for us to open up our hearts and to receive God’s wisdom. Today we often hear about Chinese wisdom, Russian wisdom, Babylonian wisdom etc. But how wonderful it is that we have been given God’s wisdom! The wisdom of God is the highest form of wisdom for all the living. Only this wisdom is able to transform human life, changing it from within (from inside out). That is why God wants our faith to be based on His wisdom and not the wisdom of men.
  • What we do with our potential?

A talent is almost the same as potential. The parable of talents could just as well be called the parable of potential. Potential is something unfinished that can be developed and completed. In the beginning potential can be invisible, but it nevertheless exists. In order to transform potential into reality, it must be developed. Based on the potential given to you, you can change your present condition. There is a beginning of change in you and everything you need to change your life. You have to develop your potential and bring it to completion.
  • Sin and lawlessness of people defile the earth and causes it to cast off the people living on it

Righteousness exalts a person and his people. When a nation turns away from his evil ways and the violence of their hands, then the new times come; joy comes instead of joy and triumph comes instead of tragedy. An entire nation can fall under the judgment of God because of the sins of its people. Sodom and Gomorrah is a clear example of how sin brings a destruction and tragedy into the life of a whole nation.
  • Apart from Him there is no true satisfaction and happiness! III

We will continue about Solomon’s search for happiness, satisfaction and the meaning of life. We have already discussed that in the beginning of his life Solomon sought God and loved him, and God gave him wisdom and riches, happiness and fulfilment in life. But Solomon got caught up with superficial things of this world and started to follow other gods. Solomon started seeking for happiness and satisfaction in things and activities. He found only disappointment in them and then he turned back to his beginning. The story of Solomon is a lesson to all of us; it tells us that the meaning of life, happiness and satisfaction cannot be found anywhere but in God alone. So we need to develop and strengthen personal relationships with God.
  • Lay hold on eternal life! III

Laying hold of eternal life means that a person strives to stay on the narrow road which leads to eternal life. Jesus knew that it would be so convenient for many to walk the broad road; being on this road, a person feels comfortable and lives without any restrictions; he does what he wants to do and is not limited by any commitments. But the Bible says that it is the way of sin, because a person is not accountable and moves ‘without brakes’, so to speak; this way leads to destruction. God says that we shouldn’t walk on this way. We must flee sin; we must cast aside all the worldly, ungodly things that hinder us, otherwise we won’t get to our destination – eternal life. Jesus says that many people will deny faith.
  • Everything that gets into God’s hands multiplies

For several days now we have been discussing the how the gift when it is used makes room for us and takes us before great people. When the gift is used it broadens our possibilities and destroys limitations. Thank God for creating us just the way we are.Dear friend, you have been given the things you need to start your supernatural ministry. Do not view your gift as being something small and insignificant. When Jesus told His disciples to feed the multitude, they argued with Him, saying: “We have here only five loaves and two fish”. I guess the disciples expected Jesus to say: «Oh, yes! Then let the people go, because we don’t have enough for everyone!» But Jesus did not say that. He managed to feel the multitude of people because one little boy gave back to the Lord the little he had.
