Poverty and failure have roots and laziness is an obvious one

Hello Friends! I am glad to welcome each of you to our website this wonderful day.Negligence and slothfulness in life are one of those things that lead to poverty in any sphere of our lives. The Bible is full of thoughts about these issues and of course this truth is also visible in our society as you examine the lives of many people around us today. Poverty and failure have roots. Laziness is an obvious one. One of the reasons for spiritual coldness and lukewarmness is negligence and laziness. Marital failure, financial poverty, failure in ministry and many other forms of poverty can all be traced back to the same root of negligence or dealing with a slack hand.
“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich” (Proverbs 10:4)
According to the above scriptures, poverty is a consequence of laziness; therefore, without overcoming laziness, hardly can you win the fight over poverty.
“He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough” (Proverbs 28:19).
The bible clearly warns us about importance of diligence and the necessity of developing those gifts and talents which God has granted us. Neglecting your gifting and talents, dealing with a slack hand will eventually lead to poverty and slavery.
“The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute” (Proverb 12:24).

“The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat” (Proverb13:4).
“The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain” (Proverb 15:19).
Dear friend, God’s word for you this first day of week is this: Be diligent in all that you do, and avoid any passivity in business. Thus will your success become obvious to all!
“Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all” (1 Timothy 4: 14-15).
The man who possesses good business qualities, abilities and skill, does not remain unnoticed; rather he will be appreciated and rated rather with worth.
“Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men” (Proverb22: 29).
Please take some time today and meditate on all the above scriptural verses. May the Lord help you and enrich you. May He enlarge you and make your profiting appear to all as you set out to pursue your assignment with diligence today! Till next time, Pastor Rufus Ajiboye
