How NOT to give up, when problems and trials are all around II

I am glad to welcome each one of you to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”!

Yesterday we started talking about how not to give up, when problems and trials are all around us. Today we are going to continue about it and I would like to share with you where we can find the strength for it.

In order for us not to give up when dealing with hardships and challenges we must know that problems are a common thing and a part of life. Nobody is secured against them no matter how big your love for God is. If you think that you are the only one with problems and the others don’t have any, then you set yourself up for failure. Here is what the Word of God says about it: «Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody in other people’s matters. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter» (1 Peter, 4: 12-16).

The Bible clearly talks about temptations, sorrows and suffering being a regular part of life and not to be considered as something strange. You mustn’t wonder why these things come into your life. In Paul’s letter to Timothy it says, «…persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me in Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra – what persecutions I endured. And out of them all them Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution» (2 Timothy, 3: 11-12).

As you see, Paul did not consider it strange when different afflictions, persecutions, hardships and slandering happened to him. He knew that all these things are common so he prepared for them. It is no surprise that in all these afflictions Paul could speak of victory, «… out of them all the Lord delivered me».

If a person understands that temptations are inevitable, then he begins to arm himself with all the necessary weapons that help him to overcome these temptations. God is obliged to give victory to such a person. That is why Paul reminds his spiritual son Timothy about the fact that afflictions and temptations are inevitable and it is necessary for a person to prepare himself to overcome these temptations.

Today God desires to remind every one of us that hardships and tests are inevitable in this world and in the life of every person so that we can prepare ourselves and be ready to overcome them. I wish you to win many victories in this life.

God bless you!

  • You won’t have a ministry if you don’t start using what you have now

The topic of our devotion today is “Your gift will make room for you”.We have been talking about how all big things start small, whether it is a known person, great ministry, great accomplishments or great influence. It all starts when a person does what he can do and does it with all his might as unto the Lord with faith and consistency. When one has such attitude towards life he will have his or her reward from the Lord. Such a person will be blessed and exalted by God. His or her gift will make room for him or her in God’s overall picture and the Body of Christ.Person’s gift will make room for him and will bring him before great men, – this is on of the Bible principles; the Bible teaches about it and also it can be seen in the lives of the people in the Bible.
  • The importance of unity

This Scripture tells us that the people had one goal, they had one language, and they put forth a unified effort, and it says about them that “now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them”. God said that because of their unity they would be successful in everything that they do. In the Bible God often speaks to His people about unity. Unity is a very important key that allows us as God’s people or the Church to fulfill the will of God and our calling in this earth.
  • What is favour?

Favour is a secret desire of an individual to take part in your life and help you to be „the best you”. Favour is the grace and benevolence of other people towards you. Favour is the acts of kindness and mercy that others show towards you. Favour also means having special privileges or someone’s support and/or help.
  • The law of harvest and multiplication

As a base we will use a passage from Mark chapter 4, where Jesus Himself was speaking in parables. In this chapter there are three parables, through which Jesus explains the power and the potential hidden in a small seed. First I would like to simply recount these parables, but later we will look at each of them in more detail. The first parable that Jesus talked about is the parable of the sower. This parable shows that there is a whole list of obstacles that make it difficult for seeds to grow and bear fruit. In this parable, Jesus went ahead to show us three types of obstacles which can impede the growth of the seeds that we sow. (Mark 4:3-20)
  • Whatever a man sows that shall he also reap

All of life is sowing. Our words are seeds, our actions are also seeds. Even our all your passivity or inactions are also seeds. So, everyday of your life, you are either sowing into the flesh or sowing into the spirit. One way to sow into the spirit is make use of every opportunity to do that which is good towards all men, especially towards them that are of the household of faith.
  • Without forgiveness we rob ourselves both of the faith and good conscience

We can suffer shipwreck of our faith and end up in the prison with spiritual tyrants. Forgiveness makes us like our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Who forgave us all our offenses: «Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases» (Psalm, 103:2-3).
