The evangelism and discipleship II

It is so good to meet with you, precious children of God, on the pages of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”. I believe that these encounters inspire and encourage you.

Today I would like us to turn to Lamentations of Jeremiah.

«Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street» (Lamentations, 2:19).

This is not a routine call to ordinary prayer, but a call to cry out to God to send a revival and deliver our children and the next generation from inevitable disasters and tragedies. Every serious revival has started with people’s heartfelt cry directed to God. So if we want to see a revived generation in our land, if we want to see godly children and youth, if we want to leave true spiritual legacy to the next generations, we must know that God desires us to do what this passage of Scripture tells us. If you want to see a real move of God in your life, your family and your church, then it is very important to ponder upon this verse. There is a parallel verse in 2 Chronicles (7:14); it talks about God’s desire to send us a revival. Revival will not come without our participation. In order for us to see an awakening and the works of God’s mighty hand in our lives and the lives of our children, we must not ignore these guidelines to revival that God gives us.

«..if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land» (2 Chronicles, 7:14).

This verse calls us to humble ourselves before God, to pray and seek His face so that we can turn from our wicked ways, and then God promises to send us a revival. Then He will send us healing – from crisis, tragedies, horrors that nowadays we see around us. Let’s search out our hearts and follow the advice God gives us today.

Be blessed!

We have been talking about God’s presence in our lives. As we have discussed, God’s presence makes all the difference in our lives. It makes us strong. It makes us wise. We can experience God’s presence through fervent praying, through cleansing and purifying of our hearts, though brokenness and humility before God, and through holy and godly living.Moses made prayer a priority in order to secure God’s presence in his life and ministry; for this reason he set up a special tent where all the seekers of God were invited to come.
  • We must learn to think big!

God’s Kingdom is bigger than just a church; the Kingdom cannot be hidden inside the church walls. The Bible tells us that we are salt to the earth and light to the world. It means that our ministry has to go beyond the boarders of a church and leave an impact on the city, the country and the world. We need to think of how to salt the earth and enlighten the world. We should start locally; but we must think globally. «You shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth», – said Jesus in Acts (1: 8).
  • If a person does not serve God, then sooner or later his love towards Him will grow cold and he will forsake God!

Serving God is one of the ways you and I can maintain a good spiritual shape. It is one of the ways to grow spiritually. If a person is always on the receiving side and never gives anything, he will eventually die. For this reason, it is very important to serve God.There are so many people in the Church today who only call themselves believers; they simply go to church, read their Bible and pray; they fellowship with other believers, but serving God is not in the list of their priorities.
  • Please stop finding fault and shifting blame

Other people might be responsible for where you are in life, but nobody is responsible for your continuing to stay where you are. Until you stop finding fault and shifting blame, you will not rise up and take responsibility for your advancement in life. Here is what God want you to do from today on:Don’t blame the devil, resist him (James 4: 7); Don’t blame God, obey Him (Genesis 3: 12-13); Don’t blame your challenges and predicaments; fight your way through them by faith (Number chapter 12-14).
  • Forget not all His benefits!

Many of us do not thank God as we ought to, because we do not purposely keep in mind what God has done or is doing for us. We forget because we do not write it down. When I was a teenager, we often sang a song that said: «Count your blessings! Name every one of them, one after another, and you will be amazed at what the Lord has done!» I advise every one of you to record every miracle and every blessing that God does in our lives. You can use different methods: either modern technologies or simple writing.
  • Searching for the meaning of life II

Let’s look at the steps that Solomon took in order to find the meaning of life. We will see what conclusions Solomon came to. The first thing Solomon turned to was acquiring of wisdom and knowledge. «I communed with my heart, saying, „Look, I have attained greatness, and have gained more wisdom than all who were before me in Jerusalem. My heart has understood great wisdom and knowledge.” And I set my heart to know wisdom and to know madness and folly. I perceived that this also is grasping for the wind. For in much wisdom is much grief, and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow» (Ecclesiastes, 1:16-18).
