The implanted Word of God changes an individual: his reactions, emotions, behaviour

Greetings to you, dear friends!I was looking forward to sharing with you the truth of how important it is to have the Word of God engrafted in our hearts. We have talked about the fact that the implanted Word of God changes an individual: his reactions, emotions, behaviour.
“Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls” (James, 1:21).
For the Word of God to be implanted in you, you must ‘lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness’. If you are mad at everybody then you won’t be able to hear and comprehend the Word; you will read it, but it won’t work in your life. The process of engrafting requires a special treatment, protection in order to preserve the tree from infection. The same can be said about a human heart, – it must be protected from wickedness so that the Word of God could be planted and then bring forth fruit – the fruit of salvation. The Scripture above says that we must receive the implanted word with meekness. What does it mean? ‘With meekness’ means with submission to God and His Word giving up our rights. It is only with this attitude can the implanted Word of God bring salvation into your life.
«But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves» (James, 1:22).
When the Word has been implanted into you, it starts to control your actions and you start to do the Word. If you hear the word, but do not do it, it means it hasn’t been planted in you.You can know the Word, understand it in your mind and even agree with it; but unless the Word is planted in you, you won’t do it. It is because the word is not не engrafted in the heart that an inner struggle goes on in a person. A struggle such as : «I believe the Word, but somehow I do not do it. I believe the Word to be true, but I act differently».God says that if we live that way, we deceive ourselves. We deceive ourselves, and then we try to blame others for what happens to us; we do not take full responsibility for our lives. First of all, we need to check the condition of our hearts.Nevertheless, that does not mean that other people will never treat us wrong. It also does not means that we will always have perfect circumstances. In spite of it, our hearts should and can be right.
«For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was» (James, 1:23-24).
Dear friend, your destiny is in your hands and nobody else – but you – is responsible for your life!Have a great day!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • On what does your destiny depend?

We mostly think that our destiny is determined by other people or how they act toward us. Or we think that destiny depends on the circumstances that surround us or things that happen around us. But it is not true, and God does not think that way! God knows that the circumstances in your life won’t define your life. What people do or do not do to you cannot determine your life. Your destiny is defined by where your heart is. Thus, God tells us that we have to guard our hearts with all diligence.
  • Are you in bondage, in the wilderness or in your promise land?

We read about how God promised the children of Israel a land flowing with milk and honey, but when it came time to possess it, as a nation they were not ready. There are attitudes that keep you in bondage and wandering in the wilderness, while a promised land flowing with milk and honey awaits you. The Bible is full of the record of sins that plagued the rest of the children of Israel which we are to be aware of today in our lives.
  • But he who endures to the end shall be saved!

The question arises why so many people start their walk with God but turn aside in one of the crossroads of life; they turn back to where they came from. It reminds me the story of Jewish people. For a long time this nation was in slavery in Egypt. They were burdened by hard work with no payment. The nation of Israel cried out to God, and God delivered them and brought them out of Egypt. They had to walk to the Promised Land. Every day they were getting closer to it. There were difficulties on their way; they had to flee some wrong things, avoid making wrong decisions, wrong relationships; they had to overcome grumbling and complaining. Israelites had to obtain more and more knowledge of God while heading towards their Promised Land.
  • Piety

Many people have learned to call upon the name of God, but they do not have a slightest idea of the fear of the Lord. It is very important to understand that our provision depends not only on our ability to call upon God, but also on the level of the fear of God in our lives. My lifestyle is what determines the power of my prayers. Anyone who calls upon God must also fear God, – and that is what it means to call upon God in truth.«The LORD is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth» (Psalm, 145: 18).
