The importance of having the right connection between your evenings and your mornings

Precious children of God, I want to bless you this day! I am so happy about the opportunity to meet with you again on the pages of our „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”. Today I want to continue to address you on the advice we found in the Book of Genesis. We saw there that when God was creating heaven and earth, He analyzed His actions and He looked at the results of each day. Before making the next step, God checked the results of what He had already done. The words „and God saw that it was good” were repeated quite a bit in the Book of Genesis. Yesterday we talked about the effective analysis of our lives and we established that we must first have a plan. It is very, very important. If you don’t have a plan of what you want to accomplish or who you want to become, then you have left things to themselves and as a result your precious life can be totally wasted. God does not want that to happen. Today I want to show you another important truth from the Book of Genesis, chapter 1: the importance of having the right connection between your evenings and your mornings. What does that mean? Let’s look at some verses from the Scripture, and we will see an interesting picture of how God does things:
«So the evening and the morning were the first day». (Genesis, 1:5) «So the evening and the morning were the second day». (Genesis, 1:8) «So the evening and the morning were the third day». (Genesis, 1:13) «So the evening and the morning were the fourth day». (Genesis, 1:19) «So the evening and the morning were the fifth day». (Genesis, 1:23)
So we see through Chapter 1 of the Book of Genesis that days did not start with the morning, but rather with the evening of the previous day. What does this tell us? It tells us that God started His day in the evening. It is very important for us to borrow this wisdom from our Heavenly Father. If we get up in the morning and only then start thinking about what we need to do for the day, then we are already starting it in the wrong manner and have already started too late. The last moment to start your day is the evening of the previous day. In the evening we need to have a composed idea of what we are doing the next day. We need to have a plan for the next day. Before we go to bed we need to have a vision for the next day. If we are too lazy to make any plans for the next day before going to bed, then we are heading towards poverty, both physical and spiritual. It is crucial for us to accept this wisdom from God to start the day in the evening of the previous day: «So the evening and the morning were the first day».Let’s learn this from God. Before going to bed, take a piece of paper and a pen or your daily planner and put together a plan for the next day. Today there are so many different ways of making plans. Someone plans one week ahead, someone else – a whole month ahead. Whatever your manner is, before you go to bed you need to have a pretty good idea of what you are doing tomorrow so that you can entrust all of these activities to God. We can ask God to strengthen us and help us to reach our goals. Thus we wake up in the morning being full of joy because our day will be focused on the right things that we receive from God. Of course, we have to be flexible and open for changes. If God wants us to move in another direction, we have to be open for that. Still, it is better to have a plan, than be without one. May God bless you! Peace be to you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • The philosophy of change

It is quite often that we oppose changes; we resist any changes because we are creatures of habit. If something is new and unusual for us, we don’t like it. Is that the truth? Whatever is unusual to us scares us. We love the comforts of life and if something upsets our comfortable position, we start to fight it with all of our strength.Nevertheless God calls every person to go through changes.
  • What are the benefits of pain and suffering at the time?

Problems draw our attention faster than anything else.Problems can become a spiritual “alarm clock” from God. This is what Job (36:15) points out: “He delivers the poor in their affliction, and opens their ears in oppression”.In times of prosperity and abundance we hear God as whispering, but in times of pain and suffering we hear Him loud and clear. God has an ability to revive our attention towards His Word and His voice. That is why Solomon says that in times of abundance we should enjoy life, but in times of suffering we should think about our life.
  • Definitely write down the vision you receive from God II

«…Write the vision, and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it.» (Habakkuk 2:2).Make notes of everything you believe in, everything that God speaks to your heart during prayer, fasting or Bible studies on the paper! For example, you may say: “I wish I could preach the word of God followed by miracles and wondrous things”, or “I wish I could bring relief to orphans by giving some of them a shelter in my house”, or ”I want to establish a school for those who would minister in the church”.
  • Through prayer we invite God to take part in our lives

God does not come into our lives without being asked. Praying means to invite God to come and help us. It is a realization of the fact that I am weak and there is One Who is stronger than me, Who loves me and cares for me. Prayer is an invitation to the One Who is stronger than me and my circumstances.Do you remember Jairus? We read about him in Mark (5:22-23). He had sent his people to Jesus to invite Him to his house, because his daughter was on the verge of death.
  • Don’t give up!

May God bless you on your way to achieving your purpose in life! Please, don’t give in to obstacles, because there are ways to achieve your purpose. If you have gone one way, and nothing seems to work out for you, then try to find another way. If the second attempt failed also, try a third method. You will eventually reach your goal if you will not give up o the way.
  • Be a good example for your children, your younger brothers and sisters!

Children watch and learn from us, and they will repeat what they have seen their parents do. For this reason we can say they being a parent is a calling and assignment from God; the task of a parent is to set correct patterns and show a right example for the children. When the woman from Canaan turned to Jesus in a time of distress she did not think that she is setting an example for her daughter of dealing with hard times. Our children need us not just ‘to talk the talk’, but to live in a correct way and demonstrate our convictions by our daily walk.
