Walk in the light and do not give place to the devil!

I am so happy for this opportunity to share the word about the lordship of Jesus Christ today!

I consider this topic to be extremely important. The measure of our understanding about the importance of the lordship of Jesus Christ will determine the level of victory in our lives. No victory is possible without the lordship of Jesus Christ. The victory is where Jesus is. Only the person that allows Jesus Christ to be his or her Lord can truly walk in His victory.

Today I would like to give you several illustrations of how, based on the understanding of the lordship of Jesus Christ, we gain protection from all the purposes of the devil. Let’s look into the Bible.

«Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him. And the LORD said to Satan, „The LORD rebuke you, Satan! The LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, „Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, „See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.” And I said, „Let them put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head, and they put the clothes on him. And the Angel of the LORD stood by. Then the Angel of the LORD admonished Joshua, saying, „Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘If you will walk in My ways, and if you will keep My command, then you shall also judge My house, and likewise have charge of My courts; I will give you places to walk among these who stand here»(Zechariah, 3:1-7).

This story tells us about the time of the ministry of Zechariah, who served the remnant of Jews that had returned to Jerusalem from the Babylonian captivity. At the time, the existence of Israel as a nation was in a very miserable state, and Satan was doing everything he wanted. He created a tremendous resistance to the nation of Israel and tried to destroy it. God gave a vision to the prophet Zechariah. In this vision Zechariah saw the sinfulness of God’s people. He saw that the high priest was dressed in “filthy garments”.

The filthy garments of the high priest were a symbol of the sinfulness of God’s people. Joshua, the high priest of Israel, stood before the LORD and was dressed in dirty clothes because of the disobedience of the nation of God, which he represented.

Satan also was present at this meeting. And, as we can see from the passage of Scripture, Satan stood at the right hand in order to oppose Joshua, the high priest of Israel. Satan came to that place to show the guilt of the children of the covenant. That is why he is called ‘the accuser of our brethren’. Every time we sin and lose our right standing with God, we give Satan an opportunity to come and to accuse us; our wrongdoings give him the license. Satan came to the LORD and demanded that the LORD condemn His nation for their sins.

The devil still does that today. Let’s not give him reasons to accuse us of our disobedience to God and hidden sins. Through the blood of Jesus Christ and by walking in the light we can be cleansed from all unrighteousness.

«But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin» (1 John, 1: 7).

God’s word for you today is: walk in the light and do not give place to the devil!

Till tomorrow!

  • The lordship of Jesus Christ

The phrase „Jesus is Lord!” is quite often used by the children of God. But being the children of God, we cannot treat this concept in a superficial or religious manner. The lordship of Jesus has a deep spiritual meaning. We should not casually proclaim or declare His lordship without the correct understanding of what it really implies. God wants us today to discover for ourselves what the true essence of the lordship of Jesus is and to act accordingly.

  • Why do people run away from being accountable?

    1. Fear of rejection. Many people are afraid of others rejecting or despising them when they find out all the truth. Biblical accountability is fulfilment of the law of Christ which tells us to express our care for the others in the spirit of humility: «Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ» (Galatians, 6:1-2).

  • Everything that is hidden will unavoidably be brought into the light II

«Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit!» (Psalms, 32:1-2) David says that after repentance God’s forgiveness comes into person’s life, his transgressions are forgiven, his iniquities are not imputed to him and his sins are covered. David says this person to be blessed. One who does not hide an iniquity in his heart is open before God. But there is no forgiveness for the one who does not repent and does not confess his sins to God.
