We have to always choose God´s will

Dear children of God, welcome to the column “Daily word for spiritual strength”. I believe our sessions inspire and cheer you up.Yesterday we talked about Jesus very serious attitude to God´s will itself and its fulfilment. Doing Fathers work who sent Him was our Lord´s highest priority.Going through the most difficult ordeal in His life, when Jesus heart was internally struggling whether to accept or to reject God´s will, He proved with His own example that we have to always choose God´s will even if it requires us to go through pain and sufferings.
«My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass away from me; nevertheless, not what I desire, but what you desire.» (Matthew 26:39).

« … Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.» (Luke 22:42)
The Bible invites us not to be foolish, but to understand what the will of the Lord is(Ephesians 5:18).Jesus had fellowship with God and knew the Scriptures, that´s why He got to know God´s will. You can do the same thing if you really wish to know what God´s will is.Getting to know God´s promises and prevailing the temptations and satan was not the only reason why Jesus studied the Scriptures. He basically did it to understand the God´s will. Quoting Scriptures Jesus implemented God´s will in His life. All these examples prompt every Christian who wants to fulfil his mission in his life to grow up in understanding of God´s will. There are at least three ways of how God´s children have to grow, so that they are able to fulfil the mission on this Earth.First of all, we have to personally know God, His nature, His heart and the goals He set for His creatures. We can receive the necessary revelations about God by reading the Bible, praying, having fellowship with the Holy Spirit and other people who know God.Secondly, get to know yourself. Get to know yourself as a different person, one who sits with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Don´t forget, everyone in Christ is a new creation, the old has passed away! (see Ephesians 2:4-10). It´s necessary to understand your mission and the goal of your life on Earth, the power you´ve been given as a child of God and your heritage you possess together with the holy ones (the Scripture also reveals all these things to us).As a third thing, you should get to know your enemy – satan. You have to be aware of his abilities but most of all we have to know what satan cannot do. In addition we need a revelation about how to fight the devil, so that we can fulfil our mission on Earth. The word of God is the only source of revelation, truth and spiritual reason. The word of God enlightens a person. The Bible is a source of light! Therefore, please do not study Bible in a religious way or just formally. Study the Bible the way that you can reveal to yourself things like who you are, why you´ve been born, what you possess and what you have to accomplish in your life on this Earth.See you tomorrow!God abundantly bless you all!Rufus Adjiboye, pastor

  • So a disciplined person is able to subject or control himself

A disciplined person is always in submission to certain set of rules and order. If you do not have any rules or regulations, if you avoid the word ‘order’, in your life, then you are undisciplined, and you won’t be able to experience any spiritual progress or growth.Spiritual growth which is related to positive changes in a person’s life is not a heritage meant for undisciplined people. If a person lacks discipline, he will always break and ignore rules and regulations. It does not matter how many sets of rules and regulations he impose on himself for noble purposes, an undisciplined man will break them all as soon as he made them.
  • Forget not all His benefits!

Many of us do not thank God as we ought to, because we do not purposely keep in mind what God has done or is doing for us. We forget because we do not write it down. When I was a teenager, we often sang a song that said: «Count your blessings! Name every one of them, one after another, and you will be amazed at what the Lord has done!» I advise every one of you to record every miracle and every blessing that God does in our lives. You can use different methods: either modern technologies or simple writing.
  • The power of compassion

Today I would like to talk about the power of compassion. If we look at the life of Jesus as the image of God – and that is Who Jesus is, – we will see that Jesus was motivated by compassion. When we are moved by compassion, we can’t be idle and barren. Our world is full of problems and God is calling us to work to solve them. We are His representatives on the earth. We are the Body of Christ on earth, so anything that God wants to do here He does through us.Looking at the life of Jesus we see that He never was idle. Every time when He wanted to be alone and relax after long hours of ministry, people would find Him and ask for help. And He never rejected anybody. Many times we read in the Bible: «He had compassion and ministered to them». He went from town to town, because He was anointed to bring solutions where problems were.
  • Lay hold on eternal life!

«But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses» (1Timothy, 6:11-12).In this passage of Scripture Paul talks about that our Christian life has three aspects: According to it, we must:flee sin;pursue righteousness;fight the good fight of faith.
  • Do not focus of what you do not have; simply go ahead and use what you have! II

God gives to us gifts according to our ability, so He does not call us to do the thigs we are not able to. If God has asked you to do something, it is only because He knows you are able to do it. He won’t give you more than you are able to bear. Simply use what you have.I once read a story about a woman who built a school for the needy. Before she began this, a desire was born in her heart to do it. It became her dream that she was thinking of consistently. At that moment she did not have a thing: no textbooks, no teachers, no building, and no money. But she did have a tremendous desire to fulfil her dream.
