Without His blessing we cannot fully function on earth ad do the things God expects of us

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ! Welcome to „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! We continue talking about our character and nature. We saw that without God’s blessing we cannot have any fruit in our lives. Without His blessing we cannot fully function on earth ad do the things God expects of us. Without His blessing we cannot fulfil our mission. Knowing this, God did His part. In order for us to have God’s blessing, we must stay in touch and have fellowship with Him. And in order to have fellowship with Him, we must be like Him. And that was God’s original plan: He created us in His image and according to His likeness. But after the fall of man sin came into the earth, and the man lost this image and likeness of God. Then God sent Jesus Christ in order to restore the status people had lost. So the first thing we need is for God’s image and likeness to be restored in us. This is done by our continual fellowship with God and allowing His word to transform us. This is the whole reason behind the practice of all form of spiritual disciplines or different spiritual activities, like reading of the Bible, prayer, fasting, attending of church services etc. All these things are done to help us grow spiritually. The essence, meaning and the end of spiritual growth is to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ and to grow into His likeness. This is necessary for us to be able to have spiritual authority from God, so that we can rule and reign on earth as His ambassadors. When we have the support of heaven, God sends His angels to protect us and fight along with us as we work to spread God’s Kingdom. The Bible calls God’s angels ‘ministering spirits’. But we must understand that God’s angels are obedient only to God’s Word. They will support and help us only as we submit to God’s commandments; they will only obey the orders which we utter as God’s kings, when we are acting in subordination to the King of kings. As we’ve said before, we first must become God’s priests and only then can we function as His kings. As His priests we build and maintain intimate personal relationships with God, walk in obedience to Him and submit to His Word. As priests we adopt His nature of love and righteousness. But as kings we grow in our God-given abilities. Our God is not just a holy and loving God; He is also the sovereign God of power. And as kings we manifest His power and ability and His authority; we promote justice and stand against any power that tries to prevent God’s work on earth. We overturn any attacks on God’s knowledge or God’s will. We expand the influence of the King of kings in different areas of the societies on the planet earth. This is our purpose as kings. We reign over territories and sphere of life, to posses them and to bring them in subjection to God absolute authority. As kings we reign through growing in God’s wisdom according to the following passage of the scripture:
«Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom; I am understanding, I have strength. By me kings reign, and rulers decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, all the judges of the earth» (Proverbs, 8:14-16).
We can see here that as kings we can demonstrate our authority through our words and as we decree God’s laws. We find this same ideas in Ecclesiastes:
«Where the word of a king is, there is power; and who may say to him, „What are you doing?» (Ecclesiastes, 8:4).
As kings we decree God’s truth, and our decrees are supported by Him. Also, as kings we must understand that our role, functions and effectiveness must be rooted in God’s nature. It is God’s nature that should motivate our actions. The nature of God makes us like God, and all of us must realize the importance of this. Tomorrow we will continue to talk more on this. May God abundantly bless every one of you! Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • Constant fellowship with God

Having constant fellowship with God we begin to see ourselves as God´s chosen ones, holy and beloved. Each of us is unique and some can see it and believe it, however, not everybody has revealed it for himself. If you look at yourself as at the God´s chosen one, you life will easily reflect a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance. In addition you will notice how these qualities reflect in your inner world and your relationships with God and other people as well.
  • The blessedness or beauty of serving others! II

Isaiah saw three important things that totally changed his life. Isaiah saw God. He saw God’s greatness and holiness. When you draw near to God, God reveals Himself to you more and more. When we see God we also see ourselves, because we are created in His image and according to His likeness. In His light we see light.Isaiah saw himself. God desires for us to see ourselves clearly. For this very reason He allows different things to happen to us so that our eyes would be open about what we are like inside.
  • The steps God takes in disciplining us II

If we listen to the conviction of the Holy Spirit that is communicated through the people God sends to us to correct us and repent of our sins, then He stops all the judgments. But, if we continue in our stubbornness and resist Him, God allows more trouble in our lives in order to show us that there are spiritual problems in us that we need to resolve. If after that we still resist Him and refuse to humble ourselves before Him, then He increases penalties. God does that because He loves us and does not want any of His children to perish.
  • What else does God use in order to make necessary changes in us?

    1. God changes us through accountability. In order to change us, God often subordinates us to a person we have to give an account to. A person without responsibility is blind to see his own level of arrogance, rebellion and selfishness he has to get over. Accountability is a kind of protection from misbelief and self-deception for us.
  • Worship the Lord

God wants us to talk to Him the way we talk to our father. Jesus said in His prayer: “… blessed be Thy Name!” The word “bless” means He worshipped the God Father in reverence to Him. Worship prepares our soul to meet the God. It also involves our spirit. Just like in order to listen to a broadcast on the radio you need to tune it up first, worship helps us to turn our spirit on and tune it up on the God´s wave. Jesus taught:«You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve»
