When you do not see a way out and when everything looks hopeless and bleak, – worship God!

Dear brothers and sisters! I greet you on this wonderful day and I pray that God’s most precious desires would be fulfilled in your life today. We are still talking of the faith of the Canaanite woman that overcame all the obstacles on her way and received what she expected from the Lord. One of the things that strengthen her faith was a humble heart of a worshipper. We are going to talk about it today.
«And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!» (Mathew, 15:22-25).
After Jesus told her that He was sent only „to the lost sheep of the house of Isarel”, this woman did not get offended; instead, she worshipped Jesus and asked for help.
“Then she came and worshipped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!» (Mathew, 15:25).
Many people have a hard time even saying the words „help me”. Many people have a hard time acknowledging that they actually need help. They do not want to admit they are helpless in certain situations and call out for help. Help does not come to those that do not ask for it. Only a humble, broken person is able to ask for help. This woman had a broken heart; for this reason she was able to worship Jesus and ask Him for help. May our hearts be humble before God, so that we can worship God and ask for His help. When you need help, you must humble your heart before God. In the beginning, when this woman first came to Jesus, she said: „Have mercy on me!” In other words, she did not come being haughty and insolent, ordering God around like some people do today; their prayers remain unanswered. Today many people act as if God owes them something. This woman asked Jesus to have mercy on her, and doing so she acknowledged that she is not worthy and does not deserve anything from God. She did not rely on her merit; she relied on God’s mercy because she knew God was merciful. I read a story about a woman who prayed for the salvation of her child and said: «Lord, save my child because he is so good and wonderful». But there was no answer; she believed that her child deserves salvation. As she grew in her knowledge of God, she understood that nobody is good because everyone has sinned. After that her prayers changed and she asked God: „Lord, have mercy on my child and save him, because he is so sinful”. And, you know, the answer came. When we come to God, the attitude of our heart plays an especially important role. God always hears the call of a broken heart. A broken heart is the biggest sacrifice to God. We cannot come to God as if He owes us something. He is not obliged to do anything for us! That is why worship is the right basis for a true prayer. A person with a broken, grateful heart that realizes his helplessness, a person that is poor in the spirit, inherits the Kingdom of God. Come to God with an attitude of worship. The woman we have been talking about worshipped God. God is calling you today to worship Him in hard times. When you do not see a way out and when everything looks hopeless and bleak, worship God. It opens necessary doors and changes the situation. God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

  • How does planning benefit us?

Planning helps to effectively communicate our vision, desires and our expectations to others.Planning not only gives us a better understanding of the task, it also helps us to effectively pass on our wishes and expectations to others who will team with us to carry out the task. How can you ask for help from others, if you do not have a clear understanding of what you really want to accomplish? During the process of planning, your ideas will become more specific and clearer, and then you can effectively pass them on to others.
  • In order for us to do the works of Jesus, we must ask for it in prayer!

«Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son» (John, 14:12-13).When Jesus Himself says ‘most assuredly’, it means He wants us to pay attention. These two verses are connected. Jesus says that we can do the works that Jesus did and even more, if we pray. Jesus tried to tell His disciples that He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth and that He will represent them in heaven, because He will be sitting with Him on the heavenly throne. Jesus told His disciples that they should ask in His name and that He would do what they ask so that His Father would be glorified.
  • Prayer is petitioning God and receiving from Him

«Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened» (Mathew, 7:7-8).This passage of Scripture reveals three levels of praying. I really want you to see it. There are quite many places in the Bible where God has made known to us His desires and His will and promises. We can ask in prayer when the will of God has been revealed and made known.
  • How to set grace free in our lives? II

The law of sowing and reaping governs how favour works. It is necessary to look at favour as a seed that must be sown. Jesus said that, “Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (Matthew 5:7).In other words, Jesus is saying, “Blessed are those who have sown favour or mercy, because they will reap favour or mercy”.Generally, the level of favour operating in your life depends on the level of the seed of favour you sow into other people’s lives. This means that I cannot expect the harvest of favour in my life until I have not sown mercy into other people’s lives.
  • Qualities that make us the salt of the earth and light of the world

    1) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Mathew, 5:3). This talks about dependency on God. Our lives depend on God. And since we realize our dependency, we must continually come to God and spend time with Him. This is a foundational step in becoming the salt of the earth and the light of the world; we must live a life that is totally depended on God!2) Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted (Mathew, 5:4). Sin, unrighteousness and injustice that surround us must motivate us to pray and mourn before God, to stand in the gap for our land. It must motivate us to repent of the sins and unrighteousness of our nation. When we look at the things around us with God’s eyes, then everything that grieves God will grieve us as well. This is where passion is born and a vision for change is conceived.
  • The person who daily fills his heart with God’s Word has several advantages

    1. God makes the feet of this person strong as the feet of deer. This person is able to run and not get weary. When he or she faces an obstacle or a wall, he has the strength to get over it. This thought is profound: the person who is filled with God’s light has power to overcome the difficulties of life. There are no invincible barriers for him. When the light of God comes into the person’s life, God’s wisdom comes with it and helps overcome all obstacles.
