Your gift will make room for you! III

Peace to you, dear readers of „Daily Word for Spiritual Edification”! The topic of our devotion today is “Your gift will make room for you”.We have been talking about how all big things start small, whether it is a known person, great ministry, great accomplishments or great influence. It all starts when a person does what he can do and does it with all his might as unto the Lord with faith and consistency. When one has such attitude towards life he will have his or her reward from the Lord. Such a person will be blessed and exalted by God. His or her gift will make room for him or her in God’s overall picture and the Body of Christ.Person’s gift will make room for him and will bring him before great men, – this is on of the Bible principles; the Bible teaches about it and also it can be seen in the lives of the people in the Bible. It is obvious that you won’t have a ministry if you don’t start using what you have now. The following Scripture verses talk about it:
“For whoever has, to him more will be given; but whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him” (Mark, 4:25).
«Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he seems to have will be taken from him» (Luke 8:18).
The phrase «whoever has» tells us that each one of us has been given some gift. And that is where we all start however small and insignificant this gift might seem to us. Only when we start using what we have and do it to full measure, God can give us something bigger. The phrase «whoever does not have» says that there is a chance to lose what we have if we allow out gifts to lay dormant. When we waste our time the opportunities, abilities, knowledge and wisdom we have start slowly killing us. You might come to a point when you realize that there is no desire in you to do anything at all. You will lose all those things you do not use. But whatever you use is surely multiplied. This is why only the law of sowing and reaping can be the foundation for multiplication in all of the areas of our lives. There is no multiplication and harvest without sowing what you have at the moment. Jesus’ parable of talents confirms this thought.
«Now as they heard these things, He spoke another parable, because He was near Jerusalem and because they thought the kingdom of God would appear immediately. Therefore He said: „A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return. So he called ten of his servants, delivered to them ten minas, and said to them, ‘Do business till I come’. But his citizens hated him, and sent a delegation after him, saying, ‘We will not have this man to reign over us.’ And so it was that when he returned, having received the kingdom, he then commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading. Then came the first, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned ten minas.’ And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.’ And the second came, saying, ‘Master, your mina has earned five minas.’ Likewise he said to him, ‘You also be over five cities.’ Then another came, saying, ‘Master, here is your mina, which I have kept put away in a handkerchief. For I feared you, because you are austere man. You collect what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ And he said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was an austere man, collecting what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow. Why then did you not put my money in the bank, that at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ And he said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas.’ (But they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas.’) For I say to you, that to everyone who has will be given; and from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him» (Luke, 19:11-26).
We can see in this parable how Jesus views every individual Christian and what His expectations are. He wants every one of us to be faithful in little things and then He will place him or her over much. God gives each of us equal chance to start serving Him and be fruitful for God’s Kingdom. You cannot multiply those things that you keep to yourself and do not sow.The master said to his servants:
«Take the mina from him, and give it to him who has ten minas».
This is not discrimination or partiality; this is a principle that still works up to our days.We will continue tomorrow!God bless you!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

«A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks» (Luke, 6:45).Some people continually blame others and their hearts are full of negative things, fear, insecurities. The reason is that they have allowed these things to enter their hearts and settle in. Whatever you let in, the same things also goes out.
  • The Church of Jesus Christ is a place of accountability!

We walk not just before God, but also before one another. When we are willing to do the things the Bible tells us to it allows us to change and grow spiritually. We established that churches are usually divided into small groups (or home groups) so that people can care for one another more effectively. In order to receive the things we need to lead a healthy spiritual life it is important to be ‘an open book’. Then other people are able to watch and study you. If you are ‘closed up’ for other people, then you won’t receive the help you need through the home group meetings.
  • Walk in the light and do not give place to the devil! II

The lordship of Jesus Christ is what helps us to walk free from the accusations of Satan; with it in our lives, the blood of Jesus Christ works on our behalf. Our accuser is not the only voice before God; our Advocate and Intercessor Jesus Christ is also there defending us. If you will listen to the accuser, you consider yourself dirty and you won’t have the confidence and boldness to come before God. But if you will listen to your Intercessor Jesus Christ, then you will walk in repentance and the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse you.
  • What is the highest commandment?

Once a man asked Jesus: «What is the highest commandment»? Jesus answered that the 1st commandment is to love God; the second – love you neighbour as yourself! When you are moved with compassion and love for people, you do not waste your time on your faults and failures. Your faults shouldn’t stop your ministry. Many people think that they are not ready to serve and minister. But if you have any compassion, you will go and minister to people despite our weaknesses. And we will be saving people.
