It is the content of your heart that determines where your life is heading! III

Greetings to you, dear readers, on this wonderful day! God makes every day anew, and His mercy is new for us every morning! We are talking about importance of our hearts being filled with God’s Word that is full of grace and life of God.
«A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things» (Mathew, 12:35).
In Gospel of Luke, the same idea is expressed differently:
«A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks» (Luke, 6:45).
Some people continually blame others and their hearts are full of negative things, fear, insecurities. The reason is that they have allowed these things to enter their hearts and settle in. Whatever you let in, the same things also goes out. Therefore, it is very important to feed your faith by being filled with God’s Word. If your heart is not full of God’s Word, then in hard times you will have fear, unbelief, anger and vengeance coming out of your heart. Not long ago I received a letter from a very close person. He asked me to agree with him in prayer for God to send down fire and judgement on those that have been acting against him and hindering his success. Immediately I told him that I wouldn’t pray for that. I told him that I would pray for his adversaries to live and see how God blesses him. David once said:
«You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over» (Psalm 23:5).
That is the kind of prayer I like: that God would prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies so that they could see that nothing is able to stop the grace of God in my life. My enemies do not determine my destiny; it is God and my heart that does!Once Jesus wanted to pass through one of villages of Samaria, but the people did not let him. Disciples offered Jesus to destroy these people by fire how it happened in the days of Elijah, when the prophets of Baal and the armed people that Ahab sent to arrest Elijah were destroyed. So the disciples based their actions on the Scripture. But Jesus told them that He was not sent to destroy people’s lives, but to save them. Jesus asked His disciples what manner of spirit were they of if they wanted God to destroy their enemies. God calls us to love our enemies, to pray for them, to bless those that curse us, to feed them if they are hungry. So Jesus wanted His disciples to understand an important truth: their enemies are not strong enough to change their destiny. If you guard your heart and fill it with God’s Word then nobody will be able to change your destiny! There is nobody that can stop you!Guard your heart, because out of it flow the issues of life!Till tomorrow!Pastor Rufus Ajiboye

We are still talking about necessity to use the gifts that have been given to us by the Lord. Jesus wants every person to be faithful in little things and then God will place such a person over greater things. God presents everyone with opportunities to start serving Him and bringing forth fruit for God’s Kingdom. You cannot multiply what you do not sow.In the Gospel of Mathew Jesus told a parable about Master giving his servants different talents.
  • How accountability helps us to change and grow spiritually?

Accountability is a sincere confession or opening of one’s secrets of his Christian walk to the others in the atmosphere of mutual trust. We are ready to give account of what we do with our lives, what we understand or do not understand, in what areas are weak or in need of assistance. When we are accountable we are willing to admit whether we are growing or not. We are able to give account of what we are learning in order to receive support, encouragement or correction.
  • The importance of favouring the Kingdom of God II

«..being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ» (Philippians, 1:6).Why was Paul so confident that the Lord will complete the good work He has begun in the lives of believers? If you pay careful attention to the context, you will see that his confidence is based upon the attitude of these people towards the work of God.In the beginning of his letter Paul said that these people had been preaching the Gospel from the very beginning of their walk with God.
  • Do you know that you are not all you could be yet?

“And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20And they straightway left their nets, and followed him”In the above passage, Jesus saw two brothers trying to catch fish by the sea side and immediately recognized that they have a better destiny, so He instructed them to follow Him. This word of God to you today is this: Follow me and I will make you.Do you know that you are not all you could be yet? Only the Lord knows who you are created to be and He wants to make you become who you are really created to be. That is why He said “I will make you”.
  • The importance of favouring the Kingdom of God

The point is that favour can be sown not just in relation to other people, but also in relation to God and His work on the earth. Your attitude towards the work of the Kingdom will determine the level of Kingdom blessings operating in your life.«You will rise and have mercy of Zion; for the time to favour her, yes, the set time, has come. For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and show favour to her dust So the nations shall fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory» (Psalm 102:13-15).
  • The sample of effective prayer

In order to pray effectively one needs a sample. Christian life is a spiritual life, therefore, connection with Heaven is vitally important. Our God is a spirit, but we all live on Earth, so we need to stay connected with God. There are only two ways of having fellowship with God – The word of God and a prayer. The God speaks to us through His word. The word of God is His revelation about God himself. Neither you can create the character of God by yourself nor you can imagine what kind of person He is, because you can easily fail getting it right. The God tells us in His word about who He is, what He can do and how He acts.
